Does anyone know what time the coverage starts on Foxtel on Wednesday? Any estimations of when the fight might start? How many undercards are there?
Sorry for all the questions, just wondering what time to drag my gf to the pub, lol.
Go Danny! I've always thought he was a legend since that 1st Beyer fight, 2 of the best knockdowns EVER!

Yep, John "Stinkfist" Hopoate himself...
What's he going to do, launch humself off the ropes with a flying elbow? Surely having boxing gloves on would limit the use of his other, err, "tactics".
And more to the point, why doesn't one of the undercards involve someone belting the crap out of Terry Hill?
Yep, John "Stinkfist" Hopoate himself...
aparently his oponent has been told to look out for his dreaded "upper jab" punch...
just heard there selling tickets at half price now..
does anyone know how the fuck there setting the football stadium up for a boxing match?

does anyone know how the fuck there setting the football stadium up for a boxing match?i always thought that they'd be hard pressed to sell even half of the seats. superdome would be a much better place for the fight.
agreed...i don't like the idea of the fight being outside.
they'd have to have it covered some how.. it'll be interestin to see
superdome would of made the atmophere 10times better cant see it being that good at the SFS

although the talkings over, time to see what he can do.
^^ Have to disagree on you with that. If you have sat down and watched the whole Mundine vs Kessler fight you would see that mundine has got what it takes. Kessler is a harder puncher than Green and mundine handled him fine. Even though he lost, he delt with Kessler power fine and didn't take on e single punch that rattled him. His mind is there no doubt.

As if Mundine's going to stand toe to toe with Green, he will dance around like a girl all fight long. If Mundine wins it will be on points and it will be ugly, like when he hugged his way to victory against Echols.

 . don't let emtion get in the way!
seriously though i don't like mundine that much myself but after watching that fight the second time properly ( First time i watch it i was too busy yelling shit and drinking...surprise suprise ). I was very impressed with him and the composure he showed when he fought in Perth. Sure the guy he fought wasn't the best but he was very focused. I don't think this will bother him and he's been in the spot light for ages now anyway with football and everything so he knows how to handle it.

mundine is going to box.
ill explain boxing in simple terms
the idea is to land as many clean punches as possible each round, whilst not getting hit with any clean punches yourself. A 'clean' punch is one in which the other boxer doesnt defend, ie catch any part of it on the gloves. The boxer with the most clean punches at the end of the round gets 10 points, the other boxer 9. Any knockdown in a round is an automatic 1 point deduction for the boxer. The boxer at the end who has the most points wins. If you want to see two people smash the crap out of each other hang around pub carparks late on a saturday night, because that isnt boxing.

Hugging your opponent every time he gets close to you is not boxing. The only title Mundine ever won he spent more time tackling than he did when he played rugby league

Moe: Okay, you're fighting a guy named Boxcar Bob.
Homer: Brawled his way up from the boxcars, did he?
Moe: Uh, no, not yet, he still lives at the trainyard. But he's a hungry young fighter. In fact, he's actually fighting for a sandwich.
Lucius Sweet - 'Moe, you are loser. You will always be a loser. Now take your million dollars and get out of my face'.
As if Mundine's going to stand toe to toe with Green, he will dance around like a girl all fight long.I like tactical fighting. Brawling just isn't boxing IMO. If the fighting styles were switched you'd be praising it.

Yeah cos green doesnt use fight tactics. The guy doesnt know boxing anymore than the next boob down at the pub. Heavy handed know-nothing should still be brawling down cambletown... Whatever.

Actually, I think it might be quite the opposite. In his fights against Siaca and Kessler, Mundine showed his opponents too much respect, and in the end didn't throw enough punches to win either fight. Now obviously it could be different against Danny, but don't underestimate Mundine's mental strength and focus when it comes down to it.
Bums on the street don't count as fighters ;D

Green to stop Mundine in 6.
(It's all quite laughable anyway, aside from the local interest.
The super-middleweight division is a farce. Kessler, Ottke and Bayer have the measure of the two Australians yet run scared from the best in the weight division - Joe Calzaghe.
Calzaghe now holds two world titles at s/middleweight. Strange how he's never brought up by 'The Man' or 'The Green Machine' as a possible opponent to prove they are the best in the world.
Must be something about Calzaghe's record - 41-0. He handsomely beat Lacy, who would pummell either Green or Mundine.
Quite frankly, this is nothing more than a local sideshow/ grudge match and the inevitable proclamations from the winner about being best in the world will be laughable.)
