Rightio - I've recently dug out an old mixtape from circa 1991 or 1992 (from a time when RTR FM over here in Perth played dance music other than drum n bass).
There is a track in the mix which has these vocals in it:
"I'll try to make it as brief as possible" with a whole lot of high synth stabs and a fairly repetitive keyboard riff behind it. Repetitive it may be, however I want this track now!
It also uses the sample "get down.. get down.. get down to the funky beat" for the bit before the breakdown.
The tune is not "Brief as possible" by New Foundations (because I've had that for ages already), nor is it "Get down to the funky beat" by Al Faris (as that was released circa 1998 ).
The only track that is similarly named that fits the time is one by Megabass "Get down".
Unfortunately I don't have a sound sample at present to put up here (working on that), but if the above description is any help then please let me know.
