View Full Version : How do you take your steak?
Personally, I prefer a nice rare eye fillet with a touch of mushroom sauce ontop. Next would have to be rib fillet and then possibly a t-bone to wrap up the podium. I just love steak of all kinds really ;D
And this time I'm not going to threaten violence on anyone who has their steak well-done, I'm just going to laugh at them  :slap:

i LOVE quarterhouse or eye fillet
MMMMMMMM
big, fat and most importantly MEATY
funny thing is, i don't eat any other meat. i mean, i'm not vegan, but i don't eat meat unless it's a steak (or chicken - but that's not meat)
(:
i used to prefer it burned to a cinder but now i like it medium - with a nice pepper sauce. mmmmmmmmmmm......
if it's bleeding in the middle, i just eat around the edges
i have a bit of a psychological problem eating meat from the bone. i freak out and can't even look at it.
i also can't stand the smell of cooking meat
best steak i ever had was from mellinos on park st, under the hyde park inn
fucking fabulous shit
you get a big glob of smashed potato, french-style of course, with a huge nugget of steak and some nice mushies and jus

medium rare... but in most places in australia that ='s a rare.
no sauce. cracked pepper only please.
Scotch fillet. Medium Rare. Ridiculous amount of wholegrain mustard smeared on top.
In fact, I think that's what I'll have for dinner tonight. Again ;D
When I do eat steak I like mine rare, not blue but still quite rare. Having said that I don't really eat that much steak anymore. I used to every day but I've gone off the taste a bit in the last couple years.

Really?? Most places I ask for medium/rare it's done medium or medium/well. which is why I ask for rare. Maybe I've had it wrong all this time...

Bleu.
Seriously. I prefer my meat waved at the pan so whatever else is on the plate end up swimming in a pool of warm juicy cows blood. I'm salivating thinking about it.
I'm certainly going to indulge, whilst in Argentina, in every cut of meat I can get my hands on.

Medium. There are many nice cuts of beef so I wont settle for just one type.
used to enjoy it charcoal style and have learned to appreciate steak alot more thru my chef hubby and have it medium now. In a restaurant where I'm a bit dubious about the chef's skills I ask for medium-well as I hate the site of blood pouring out of the meat. If it's too rare I also dont enjoy the texture
Red wine jus, diane or mushroom sauce are my favs :) sometimes at home a quick garnish for a steak is either Dijon or whole grain mustard spread over the top with a few slices of tasty cheese sitting on top mmm yum!
scotch fillet
medium rare
mushroom sauce
on creamy garlic mash potato
or with dijon mustard
and hand cut chips

Rare or medium rare. It must be bloody.
I prefer it without sauce. Just pepper. Sometimes mustard is good, needs to be good french/grainy mustard though.
Mushrooms with it are also a bonus.
well done. pepper sauce.
usually a rib-eye or some other small steak.
I am the girlfriend of a chef so I only really ever eat good cuts of meat.
I would have to say that wagyu (of course!) is my favourite! I don't like steak to be cooked any more than medium rare but still mooing really is the best!!

Medium. proper medium, most people whinge about their steak being cook wrong and dont even know what the types really are. They assume med-rare is meant to be one way because they got it a certain way the first time.
Used to laugh in da kitchen, very annoying when ppl have no idea tho

Rib Eye Bone Left in, Porterhouse, New York, T-Bone, Fillet, all types really.
I like mine rare-medium because i find medium rare is always over cooked, nothing beats a really thick cut steak, oh fillet mignion ftw!
I buy the thick cut t-bones woolies has to offer day before the used buy, pick them up for around 3 dollars each, they are pretty good. Sear them, chuck them in the oven for awhile and then char grill them to finish. Add some pepper sauce and yum yum!
Bon appetite!
especially that were blokes, but hey, anything goes these days
