I was listening last weekend to Eric Morillo's set from Mobile Home NYE 2002 and my recollection of the set (in fact the whole night) was nowhere near as good as it sounds on this cd.

I always thought that a set sounds better on the night rather than on a recording... at least this is definitely the case for Love Parade recordings.

But while I was listening to Eric's phenomenal mix of Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics it made me think about my NYE in greater detail. Mobile Home did no justice what so ever to his unbelievable set!

Was it the venue? Was it the sound? Was it the crowd? It sure as hell didn’t match up with Field Day.

I know that it’s all past history, but really interested to hear what everyone thinks.

Let me know

I definately think that the sound system had something to do with it but.... what about the venue, don't get me wrong Bondi the best but something was lacking..... the decks are to far away. don't know.

the cd is UNBELIEVEABLE>>>>

Don't know where my mates got it from... off the net somewhere.

I thought his set was good on the night.... but the recording is just unbelievable.

I will try and find out for you guys.

As for next year... I might do something cruiseeeeee on NYE and save myself for Field Day.

I got the set from audiogalaxy and didnt think that it was that great. A bit of a mash really.

Not to mention his first three tracks mysteriously appeared in the same order on Choo Choo's cd....

Erick is great dont get me wrong, but he can and has done better.
