Hi guys,

I've been putting snippets of my music up onto my new blog and am interested in getting some feedback www.grantoverend.vox.com (http://www.grantoverend.vox.com)

I've recently added a preview of a track called 'Memento' which is kinda jazzy/ambient/idm but I've also got quite a few other styles I like producing if you look for the little speaker icon.

Cheers
Grant

Cheers Richard. Do you do anything yourself?

Thanks :) It depends on the track I'm making, some use just one VSTi others use samples from my old Yamaha CS-15 + VSTi's. I'm using Live as my sequencer.

Cheers Richard. Do you do anything yourself?
Yes, and I berate myself for not doing any experimental works.
My best production to date is here:

But it might very well bore the pants off you. I'll let you know when I do something truly exciting.

That's good work Richard. If by 'Ill let you know when i do something truly exciting' you mean, that what you've made and what you're hearing / feeling when your making music are two different things, I can relate to that for sure.

Sounds like you too have been listening to Monolake. No bad thing :)
I'll have to check out some more of your tracks.

Can i suggest putting a streaming player on your website or something? My attention span is as bad as that of a fish.

I just mean what I've been writing is still in essence formulaic; in this age we don't need to stick to conventions, as I'm sure you attest.

Haha, I've got some tracks on Myspaceif you want to stream them: http://www.myspace.com/rparc

And check out this awesome track Lesser Winter by Melbournite Lukey if you haven't already: http://www.myspace.com/problemcreations

Oh you're right. I know myself there's so much more I want to experiment with but it's for me a matter of being confident enough with my compositional / writing skills, getting stuff finished that actually communicates something meaningful and clear. It's easy to get bogged down in the technical stuff and I'm certainly guilty of that but before I start trying to change my musical world i need to get more of a grasp on it, define it.

I've gotten to quite like that April Rain track of yours.
