Peoples thoughts on this guy??

I've liked him for a while, some interesting weird electronic breakcore stuff.... his album "This Means Forever" is pretty rad...

I just got his new album "We Never Sleep" though and I think it sounds fucking great.... he's pretty much ditched the breakcore, this album is much more song oriented and aimed at the clubs in some parts.... there's still weirdness going on but sometimes it's more electro, or more bassy, and there are some baltimore club-esque rhythms and maye some grime ones too.... its pretty cool... the album basically sounds like if Cex, Vex'd, and The Soft Pink Truth had a baby.... maybe. His singing is okay too.

But yeah I reccomend it, and this guy in general.

Yeah I got it a few months back. How good is that Full Moon Rising track? Silly but really fun!

Have you seen the video for E Lock? Check it on Youtube.

I loved 'This Means Forever' but was overall very disappointed with 'We Never Sleep' - sure it was different but I much prefer his experimental breakcore/noise type stuff.

If it was possible, would any on this forum who live in Canberra be keen to check out a separate Kid 606 or Drop The Lime show?

Hahaha can't wait to see Home. I've been to gigs there the last three Saturdays and it's been empty. Plus are they gonna have the normal DJs? Banging in remixes all night? It's gonna be a weird one. But then that's always fun...

Oi does anyone have a hard copy of We Never Sleep? I have a d'loaded version and wanna know if it's supposed to sound... It's not bad but it's hard to explain. It's not loud enough. Like a bit weak. Or something I dunno. Anyone?

I have a hard copy and didn't really notice it at first but it is a tad softer at the same volume on my stereo in comparison to other cds - not a huge difference but one never-the-less.

Wtf, they are playing at Rebel Rebel? How weird...

Anyway, breakcore better be busting out of that damn club. Good shit!

Yeah man it's old news. It's even on this page.

Considering the last Kid606 CD wasn't breakcore, nor was the last DTL, I wouldn't hold out much hope. Apparently Kid606 can be really good live and other times he just sucks arse. Or so I hear.

Yeah I'm not hoping for it... I would be bummed if he totally sucked arse though, I've dreamt about seeing him for so long.

If anyone else is "friends" with Drop The Lime via Myspace would have seen the bulletin saying he doesn't make Breakcore anymore.

I might give this whole night a miss and do DnBBQ... Fuck 'em all.

I read an interview w/ DTL and apparently he never associated himself with breakcore, just did his own thing. He went on to say he'll play whatever gets people dancing or getting into it, and will play anything from the more party oriented stuff to the more fucked up, harder shit.

I might give this whole night a miss and do DnBBQ... Fuck 'em all. That's my opinion too... it seems that the venue will almost dictate the music so being at Rebel Rebel will mean it's going to be a sham. Nevermind, Mark N is playing DNBBQ, we'll probably hear more breakcore and wicked turntablism from him in 3 songs than we'd hear all night at Home.

Exactly, he'll smash it 100% guaranteed.
