Hey all!

I am in need of some help.

Im playing a friends party soon, and was wondering what is going down well in the funky house world?

So pretty much what tracks are nice and danceable, while not being too 'hard'

All suggestion appreciated!

Liz Millar did a CD for Remix magazine a while ago. The best funky house I've ever heard. real New York style, funky as ya undies, dancey house.
I'm hopeless with track names but if you can lay your handfs on that CD, it would be a good start.

* Mousse T - Fire (remix)
* Shakedown - at night (mousse t remix is good as well as the kid creme!)
* Sade - By your side (i think thats the name of it - not really *funky* house though, bit more cruisey)
* Wawa - no problem... might be gettin a bit old but still a good one :)
* Afro Medusa - Dreams (problem kids mix)
* Deepstar - Sugar!!! < gotta be the best track gettin played at the moment.

.... and i dare you to chuck in Planet Funk vs Atomic Kitten for some cheese .. Give me sun right now :) I'm still waiting to hear this on a dancefloor :P

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering the same thing.

What are some good funky chunky house tracks/labels I should be on the lookout for? I've been asked to do a friends 21st on the 21st and I'm mostly into trance but I do like to "get down" every now and then.

Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

definately julie mcknight - home.

and then mix in guitarra g with either dajae - everyday of my life or kings of tomorrow - finally.....god i love that!

also layo and bushwhacker's love story is a show stopper.

and finish off with krafty kuts..

'c'mon everybody put your hands in the air, wave em to the rhythm like you just dont care...'

"we got the groove, we got the sound, we got the vibe to make ya get down"...

and then mix in guitarra g with either dajae - everyday of my life or kings of tomorrow - finally.....god i love that!

thats a classic Shamus trick, that one....
