never heard of such a thing as '60's disco' but good groove records (in darlinghurst?) is mos def a place to check.

60s disco is kinda like post motown soul/funk. it has the funk of disco without the cheese - an awesome sound. prominent in philadelphia in the 60s.

thats pre disco then. back then it was called R&B. disco didnt happen until around 74. it was more orchestrated, better produced and quite often recorded with club dj's in mind. check out stuff on salsoul (first choice, loleatta holloway) philly international (mfsb, gamble and huff, billy paul), motown's 12" disco singles (diana ross "love hangover", eddie kendricks "goin up in smoke", the originals "down to love town", marvin gaye "got to give it up") and so on.
