View Full Version : Wanted: Entry level mixer
I am looking for an enrty level mixer. I only realy need a 2 channel, preferably with EQ's and kills for each channel.
I am only a beginner, so I don't want to fork out too much cash, but I also don't want to buy a cheap piece of junk that sounds shitty.
Any ideas?
The Numark DM1002X is an entry level two channel mixer with three eq and kills. It only costs around $250. It is a good mixer to learn on but you don't get the sound quality of expensive mixers and I have heard that the cross faders don't last forever. But you get what you pay for I suppose.
Thanx for the reply STADT, although thats in my price range I am really lookin to buy secondhand. :)

it is possible (assuming my purchase of DJM 600 goes according to plan) that I will be selling my Pioneer DJM 300 this weekend.
2 channel (phono/CD line on each), nice fluid cross fader, hi mid low Eq (no kills), a year old, never left the bedroom, excellent condition. Price = $650.
I'm very happy with it but a 600 has presented itself....
PM me if you are interested.
Cheers Gromit 8-)
Hardly a bargin....... It's only bout $100 less than brand new!!
Way out of my price range anyway.... :)

The Pioneer DJM300 best new price at present is $799 from DMC. List price is over $900.
You can get a better price new if u r buying other gear eg turntables, however buying a mixer alone limits your negotiating power. Thus $650 (neg) for a mixer that's in perfect condition and has only ever had really light use is OK.
Each to their own ;)
Cheers,

I plan to sell my mixer soon. When I buy my new the new, the old will go up for sale. I have a very very basic mixer. It is the Stanton ESM-11. I got it when I bought my decks. As I said the mixer is very basic, it doesn't have and EQ's, but it is a great piece of machinery for learning to mix.
Thanx for the offer, but I really want EQ's, and preferably kills as well.

kam bpm jr, never (http://www.kam.co.uk/bpmjunior.html) used still in box. $450 but we may be able to talk. $700 new.
dunno if you've had any luck zoltar ... but I'm selling my mixer which I think makes a good entry level piece of gear. Here's the specs:
BEHRINGER PRO DX100 MIXER
Features of the DX100 Pro Mixer
• 2 dual stereo channels for 4 sources
• Extremely high-grade mic channel with Peak LED
• Ultra-musical 3-band EQ
• Mic input: electronically balanced, discrete input configuration
• Gain: +20 to +40 dB
• Frequency response: 10 Hz to 40 kHz, +/- 3 dB
Basically, it's a 2 channel mixer which is great to learn beatmixing on, but not a great deal else. You've got three-band rotary OUTPUT EQs, transform/punch feature, push-button PFL cueing and a well-looked after Panasonic crossfader.
It's in top condition, six months old and still under warranty (with another six months to go!). I've never had any problems with it, and it's never left my lounge room.
Lightsounds are selling it new for $300, I'll part with it for $180. I'm getting a three-channel mixer so I can hook up my CD player.
Let me know if you're interested.
