View Full Version : Help replacing stolen stuff
Hey, Adelaide old skool here.
My car was stolen, they could have had the lot except for the CD's Id made of all the old skool music - my fault - not backups - but still pissed.
Been searching for a while, but some of this stuff is 10 years plus (are we really that old now??)...
Anyone got some recommendations on where to find old skool downloads / mixes / etc??
Particularly looking for things like, Dread - Quantum Leap, RAF - Take me higher, With it Guys - Let the Music Take Control - any help / pm's would be greatly appreciated as I have to start again!!

Hmm I got Shareza but haven't tried for Techa's, thanks for the tip. Oink's a pretty good music resource.
Or Skywalker (anikan) have you seen the post "post all your old skool rave athem mixes links"... if you trawl thru that thread your bound to replace some dearly loved and missed CD's. F'ing pricks for nabbing your car... and its not like you can insure this stuff etiher :-0

Yeah unbelieveably I got the car back (found nine blocks away) and the cops couldnt figure out why I was so pissed.
New to the forum, (pretty happy I found it cause at least it gives me a chance), Ill check out the thread you mentioned.
Im a Limewire dude myself - but now days thats mainly "sponsered links", plus Im struggling to find stuff - (spent all afternoon writing down songs from other threads!) - after name and title, any suggested "searches"?
Oh - and what's 'oink' - apologies if its a stupid question.

Oinks just another Torrent site. (google it)
The problem for you is that ALL good Torrent sites require invites... and it takes time to met people with the connections... erhh.. I'll get you started and send you an invite to Oink (tomor going to bed now)

I had my place broken into and my decks, cans and a whole bunch of CD's stolen- they left the mainstream CDs and actually took the time to go thru my collection and take all my rare discs, hard to finds and Radioactivity (SBA Music issued ones) cds. It bites to think a fellow DJ went thru and did such a $#%! up thing. Insurance of course said "oh no, that's all commercial gear, we won't insure that" even though I hardly DJ'd as a career.. took over a yr till they finally paid up in.. Myer vouchers. How am I supposed to replace my old discs at Myer? So obviously I had to change my music tastes and bought the entire back catalogue of 'So Fresh' top 40 hits:) jk

Yeah, that's pretty rotten.
In 1999 I had two CD briefcases stolen from my car (along with the car stereo, amp, smoke machine, lighting gear).
- One case full of rare old skool dance/techno/trance/rave singles.
- The other case, rare old skool dance/techno/trance/rave albums and compilations.
Around 300 discs in total.
Try Crack Converters or similar scum-of-the-earth pawn shops. With any luck, they'll show up somewhere.
Check your PMs.
