so yesterday i got the bleep (http://bleep.com) newsletter, so of course i went hunting for some new stuff.
one of the guys they mentioned was max richter (http://www.maxrichter.com), who's just released a new album, songs from before on the UK's fatcat records (http://www.fat-cat.co.uk/).
wow.
i'm trying to cook up some ideas for a piece i'm working on at the moment, and this is exactly what i need to get things running. it's all classical-based stuff; rolling, spooky string compositions over nice big, hollow soundscapes. and he's got robert wyatt reciting poetry over the top. it's fucking incredible.
also got his older album, the blue notebooks, which is equally impressive.
so, who wants to tell me i'm slow for taking so long to get on this fantastic bandwagon?
