Jade played at 'Anthems' at City Hotel just last year.
I heard Vagas was suppose to drop in on the last Back to Unity because his good friends with my mate. And his suppose to come out this w/end with us so I don't think his in South Australia. Not sure though.

Hey if you do bump into him can you ask him if it is ok for me to host some of his mixes on the " post your links to old skool rave anthem mixes here" thread? Or drop me a PM and I can give you some contact details for him to contact me so I can ask him if it is ok. I have a stack of them I would love to host for everyone but would love his permission to do so first.

yep, Jade played at Anthem last september - and wat a set!
So did Budds n Stoo. I have been trying to get them to play at a Stillbuggin.com event, but they are a bit reluctant atm saying they have kind of moved on from mixing and are too busy - nevertheless i have faith that with enuff perseverance i can manage to convince them!
so keep ur eyes on www.stillbuggin.com coz we may just have some surprises in 2007!
But for now, we have got Reaver playing LIVE for us at Back to Unity - 18 Nov 06! Now THATS olskwl! Also playing are Paul Holden, Shade and Spellbound!

I have a friend who knows him and the last time I asked he was still around but that was like 2 years ago.

I remember him taking over the FLC tent at FOD4 and even though the sound system in there was crap, I was so happy to be there listening to his set. I think it was while Nervous was playing in the main tent, I didn't feel Nervous did a good set that night, so luckily we wandered off and the timing was right to hear Akira's set...

Haven't seen Crisis in yonks, the last time I seen him he was really into Hard House haha!
Vagas was in SA last I heard, still dodgy as ever by all reports.
Herb now lives in QLD.
Budds is still working on web stuff when I saw him last.
Stoo I saw last at Hyperspeed a year or two back, doing the married thing and that was about it.
Jade's around, been playing at Anthem etc.
Akira was still really unwell (last I heard)
Preacher now owns a bike shop in Campbelltown.
Last time I saw Johnny (Gee Wiz) was about 2 years ago. He'd moved to the UK but then moved back to Aus and wanted to start DJ'ing again, but never really got it happening.
Last time I saw Airwalk was when he played for me at Awakening in 2000. Haven't seen/heard/spoken to him since.

I was still underage when the 97 RBIT was on - so I didnt go. but i have been to all since then. They make for a wikid night!
Yes it definitely still does focus on 93+ italo, classic rave anthems, euro, breakbeat and a bit of happyhard! I love it that way! This music will rock me forever!
Shade is looking at putting on another RBIT soon (so we keep hearing, lets hope it happens this time!). Check out www.s-productions.com for his site.
BUT....in the meantime...if u wanna hear some olskwl tunes...u better get that little ass down to Back to Unity on 18 November 06! The Stillbuggin Crew are reviving anthems! Check out www.stillbuggin.com for more details.

dj crisis - Still playing, was getting alot of gigs about a year ago, maybe 2. Playing hard trance and german trance
vagas - i believe is back in S.a but still makes appearences up here. played about 3 weeks ago at a party at Metropolis nth Sydney, playing oldschool
herb - No idea
buds n sto - No idea
jade - Stopped working at central a couple of years ago but is still playing the oldschool parties quite often. I would still offer my first born for her records hehe
akira - There was another thread that included him on here somewhere. Apparently was in trouble with the law, no confirms or denials.
the preacher - No idea

Spectrum pointed me here after having an 'old skool' rave day rememberance session over beers last night.
Last i sighted Akira was in 1999/2000 NYD at a doof/rave organised by some very seedy dudes at Karuha outside Newcastle. Akira was a dick, K'ed of his head and we had fisty cuffs. He had a problem with the fact i came out to do the party organisers a favour and fix their shite sound. Unfortunately, some of the fixing needed to be done during his set and he had a fucking hissy fit... then wanted fist cuffs. I was being paid by the dudes throwing the party in pills, so i wasn't up for it... but he was pretty insistent. Got his way in the end.
Anyway, last i heard the K bender went on for a few more days after NYD, and he was taken to an asylum 3 weeks after the party i saw him at. That could be 'trouble with the law', pleading insanity from being head fucked on K :? Either way, IMO the guy is a dropkick and deserves whatever he gets :thumb:

Think alot of oldskool djs did'nt evolve their styles and kinda stopped getting giggs. Others just got over the scene, settled down and got married etc.
THese guys still seem to be going strong years after the oldskool days.
