I like the idea...lots of live dredgy rock sounds....but the beat-repeats and cuts are pretty off-putting. Seems like hes just got too much running at times and doesnt know how to back out????

I saw James Holden a few months ago at Razzamataz in Barcelona... average. What happened to ambient/eclectic style?

So I am doing the whole fanboy thing with Valentino but this set is not being downloaded by enough people.

It is just brilliant!

If you cannot handle the deep and minimal influence in his music just download part two on. 10 minutes into part and he smashes it for 2 hours.

It is comfortably the best set I have heard this year! Best in terms of the music played and the delivery. I have said it before about him, but the mixing is basically as good as it gets.

I wonder if he will end up at Defcon in Melbourne...it make about as much sense as Liebing (while being just as unexpected).

Franco Bianco is producing releases, remixes and collaborates with labels such as Unfoundsound, Multivitamins, Hypercolour, Meerestief, LessIzmore and Dilek.

2007 was a very good year for Franco Bianco with successful releases which were remixed by artists such as Sarah Goldfarb, Seuil and Someone Else. He also had a huge tour which began in Australia, passed by Egypt, and went through 13 countries. With a total of 32 presentations "Live!" over 4 months, he shared line ups with Steve Bug, Tiefschwarz, Matthew Johnson, Dominik Eulberg, Marco Carola, and many many more.

Over the past months, he was working on several tracks as well as his last live act. A new tour was scheduled for 2008 in Europe and Central America, to support the Mola vinyl and Origenes EP. This last and bigger tour was a huge experience that lasted longer then the 2007 tour. He also played in new places where he never was before, such as Lithuania, Polonia, Colombia, Dominican Republic and last but not least, the Argentinean edition of the Creamfields Buenos Aires, one of the biggest festivals around the globe.

His latest 12", Mola EP (with remixes of Tony Rohr & Bloody Mary), was a total success and is still played by Laurent Garnier, Anderson Noise, Ivan Smagghe, Frankie, Andre Crom, Nathan Coles, Tim Xavier, Brothers Vibe, Loco Dice and many many others.

We are very proud to announce that Filth & Splendour from the UK has won our inaugural Rhythm Selector DJ Competition. In catching up with Filth and Splendour, they had this response about winning;

‘We're honoured to win the first Rhythm Selector DJ competition! We couldn't believe it when we saw and we hope everyone who downloads the mix thinks we deserve it. Hopefully, we might even get some fans over in Australia now too’.

Just to give you some background on Filth & Splendour, we have included a short bio of their achievements.

Filth & Splendour continue to rise up through the ranks and 2008 saw them release several hot tracks, including Language, which was snapped up by Godskitchen for their compilation 'Underground', Tomorrow's World, which sold out on vinyl in two weeks, and Sonar, which gained support of DJs like Laidback Luke and Hybrid.

Now UK residents at Pure Pacha and Rhythmatic, their sound has widened to include everything from Deep House to Techno. They finished 2008 with a flourish of accolades - they were short listed into heat 4 for the djsounds.com Space Residency competition, they came top 5 in the MoS Next Generation DJ competition and were touted as Ones to Watch 2009 by I-DJ magazine.

If 2008 is anything to go by, 2009 will be a massive one and we will have not heard the end of Filth and Splendour. Also watch out for their new label, Itch Records, as their plan is to continue releasing challenging and original tracks throughout this year.

This set was recorded at Wire, a small basement club in Leeds.
The sound was just right for the space, loud and punchy, with strong bass where you needed it.
Before my set the temperature increased as bodies packed the dancefloor.
I felt relaxed as I played that night, just letting the set flow wherever it wanted to go, and the great crowd there flowed with it.
This is the first set I've put online using a new technique which combines the direct recording with a binaural microphone recording to give a much better sense of the sound as it was when I played this set.

Jerome got his turntables in 1990 after being inspired by the pirate radio sounds of London.
He began buying hip hop, house, breakbeat and early european techno . In 1994 he hooked
up with infamous London soundsystem "JIBA" and further honed his scratching and mixing
style for which he has now become known. Jerome has always followed his own musical path ,
constantly sniffing out exciting new (and old) tracks to add to his sets while never paying
attention to current trends. Jerome runs his own label DON'T ( http://www.dont-recordings.com )
since 2000, releasing maverick techno music and is resident dj at UGLYFUNK, now based in
london whilst regularly playing around the world. He managed London`s "Trackheads" and
"Dragon Discs" record shops in Camden Town for 7 years and is half of GROOVE ASYLUM,
(the other half being Rob Stow).
