It would be nice to know of a few good options in Melbourne cause I think we have organised around 30 people to infiltrate into Melbourne for NYE so some suggestions would be great.

Just read this from the www.muzikweekly.com newsletter:

"Sasha and John Digweed, meanwhile, are both heading for the Antipodean delights of Austrailia. Sasha plays on Bondi Beach just outside Sydney with Radio 1's Pete Tong, before heading flying straight over to Melbourne to finish the night. Similarly, Digweed plays across town from Sasha at the Olympic Hall, before joining his occasional DJ partner in Melbourne for a 4.30-6am set."

3. Christian Smith

That's right!! 3 Swede's dropping by Melbourne, via Perth! So its goodbye Inner City and hello Summadayze. :)

james,

Well I went and bought some Summadayze tickets on Monday with a friend at Dangerfield at Sportsgirl Centre on Collins St, and we had actually bought the first 4 tickets they'd sold! So to be honest, it's not sold out and it will probably be a few weeks before it's even close to selling out.

P.S Hardware stated on their Hardware17 flyer that tickets to Summadayze 2001 were selling fast, what a load of bollocks!

THANX Brett!!!

Well I might grab myself some when i come down there tomorrow. I didn't think it would be all that close seeing it has a lot of competition this year. Hmmmm how far is the showgrounds from the Music Bowl?

At this stage I think it's important to remember the type of crowd you're gonna get at these NYD events... that is, Summadayze = muscle-mary's, fuct up tranceheads etc, while Innercity is all about that eptas/monkey/wetmusik vibe. The swedes will be back, it's not like they haven't been before. Besides, the techno stage will be small compared to the trance/progressive bollocks.

Think about it.

yes unfortunately the trance scene is gonna be big at summerdayze, althought there's no international !!
and the techno scene!! there's 3 INTERNATIONAL.. wouldn't it be big??

well for Innercity
there's that lack of internationals, well besides devilfish, think we've had enough of em since they've been here for 3 months.. that's the problem!

James
22-Nov-00, 09:27am
yeah yeah maybe, but i like progressive too! hehehe

Plus there is a breaks stage. And as for beyer and the rest yeah they might be back but whether or not they come to Sydney is a different matter. I am only saying that because i am going to have to stop travelling to see people. This (H17) will be my 12th interstate trip this year! AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Thanks soph! *mwahhh*

Well as for Inner City and Devilfish being the Sydney boy that i am I still am yet to see them. Supposedly they will be playing up here but that is yet to be seen. So i think i will do both. Besides it is always fun to go between parties, offers variety and you don't feel trapped in one place.

Well the way I looked at it was, why go to InnerCity and get 1 international act and the "normal" Melbourne DJ's you can see at clubs anytime around Melbourne and pay $40 + b/f, or go to Summadayze and get 3, yes 3 BIG name techno internationals and pay $53.85.

Personally, crowds dont really phase me all that much if there is wicked musik booming out. :)

James
27-Nov-00, 07:19am
Yes but i love Devilfish and i am yet to see them as they still haven't toured Sydney, and Eric (Powell)is unsure if they will. So that is why i am going to Inner City.

Um, Dom and Roland is only one person dude - so it's not a 'they', it's an individual. Dom Angas - with Roland referring to his sampler. Ahhhhh yes.
