Does anyone else use a type 110* film camera??
I got mine as a birthday present nearly two years ago, and I take it with me every where.
It is so small, and convenient, and FUN!
I love teh dodgy '70s quality of the photos it takes.

*it's not 110 speed it's just type 110.
You're probably lucky that you're in Japan where you can still get access to the very last of 110 casette film. For the rest of the world it's been pretty much extinct.

Oh really?
Well why does everyone call it 110 speed then?
Yeah, the film is available just about everywhere here.

Keep your eye out for Fuji's reissue of original recipe Velvia 50. If they manage to get it figured out it'll come out there way before it hits anywhere else.
Also buy Fortia if you ever see it, the stuff is so rare and Fuji only makes a batch once in a while and you can only get it in Japan. Crazy shit.
AFAIK 110 is available in normal film speeds like 100, 200, 400. 110 is just the designation of the film type
110 = micro cassette
135 = 35mm
120 = rollfilm

Can you please take a pic of your 110 camera?
My brother had one as a kid. Still quite bulky, despite the film cartridge size, looking a bit like a car stereo headunit case in shape/size. Can't think of the brand now, maybe Hanimex?

Yeah, now I think about it, my brothers was more the top pic, and it was Fuji not Hanimex, whereas I had a Hanimex that looked like the lower pic, complete with those fricken four-use-only flash cubes! :lol:

You can't get the film here, and even if you could, no-one would process it for you.
If you want a cute little compact film camera I'd try tracking down a Minox 35

You can get it processed in Australia! I got one processed in March last year. But the dude in the shop was all "WTF!?? Where did you get this from, I haven't seen one of these for 20 years!!"
It also cost me $24. :/
I used to have one of those camera's with the disposable flash that spins around when I was a little kid!! I loved those!
Here's another 110 thingy photo.

depends if you're just getting them developed or getting proofs from them too - but that seems expensive.
slide costs me $9.90 a roll, colour neg costs me $6.60 a roll.
oh and my little protip if you're new to rollfilm... when you've finished a roll make sure you get that sticky tape nice and tight, then keep it in a dark place - rollfilm is nowhere near as light-tight as a 35mm film canister, and if you don't treat it with care you'll get fogging.
I've got an old AGFA 110 camera + some old Kodak cartridges, always wanted to use it more :|

I love these photos
there's a part of me that goes I don't think I am meant to as so much photography these days is about clarity etc
but I love the washed out quality...
I should really get myself a 110 camera XD

A far easier way to do it would be to go with something like a Minox 35 or Olympus XA, both of which are about the smallest 35mm cameras you can get.
Or for a more lo-fi effect there are cameras that use regular 35mm but shoot half-frames, gives you roughly the same frame size and quality as 110, while using more readily available 35mm film. You also get twice the number of shots on your roll of film (ie a 36 roll becomes 72 shots)
Canon Demi, Olympus PEN, Konica AA-35, just to name a few. Probably a whole bunch of russian and chinese half-frame cameras out there too.
There's a weird little sucker from the 90s from Yashica called the Samurai, it looks like a handycam but is a tiny zoom lens auto focus half-frame camera. They pop up on ebay every so often.

I bought a Holga spycam from ebay to take overseas last year. I was in London at the start and was standing outside a camera shop and decided to check if they had 110 film. Turns out they were one of the only shops in london with it. weird!
I still havent got it developed though. Any idea who might do it in Sydney?

probably be cheaper for me to send you my rolls and get them developed in jpn and sent back :meh:

The place I got it done was in Summer Hill, I think.
But I think they had to send it away to a lab or something.

Maybe. Although postage between Aust and Japan is pretty expensive.
They wouldn't be big packages though.

I was wondering a while ago if this film was still available - I still have an old 110 camera somewhere (with a couple of old polaroid cameras too)
