View Full Version : Let's get trollied...
I broke my UDG trolley bag last night and need to replace it... what's a good brand or is UDG still where it's at?? has to be a trolley bag, my back's not the best and I gotta walk (sometimes 2k's) when I go out...
I bought the technics trolley bag (in camo just in case im in the jungle at war...) over the udg, i found the handles in the techies to be sewed into the bag rather than just into the lid on the udg's, taking the strain off the zip
dats my $0.02

that's a good point.... that said the stitching around the handle seems to be still intact (I tollied it everywhere), stitching (and material) in other places is coming apart/tearing though...
there ya go dude... if you stocked 'em at your work, you could've made another sale ;o)
true, i woulda bought 2 if i sold em and murray wouldn't have got any dosh from me!
i look after the guys who look after me :thumb:
apparently you can get replacement handles for the techies - dunno bout the udg's... perhaps you can source from a bag shop or something if thats all the prob is?
Check out the warranty on the UDG bags, i believe its pretty good.
Either way worth checking out if it could save a few dollars.

two year garantuee... bags older than that :(
Bugger...
Go Digital, all you will need then is a shoulder bag for your CD's ;)
those UDG bags are designed pretty poor. there is so much strain on the zip, you would think they would reinforce them a hell of a lot more. my friend just ripped his on the weekend.
trollies boxes are good, but i suggest going out and buying a small luggage trolly because it means you can replace the trolly when the axel bends or the wheels fuck up and you dont have to go out and buy a whole new case.

if i was smart enough i would've done that long ago :P

not sure who stocks them in Oz (reachin used to - RIP) but the oddysey range of bags are ace and absolutely bomb-proof- had mine for about 6 years now and still going strong despite drunken nights falling home! Dont think thyere as cheap or as tricked up as UDG but worth it

I know what you mean Lukey .. was that Mustards bag that broke?? Bummer!!
Mine isn't falling apart at all (same as mustards .. except for the angled lid) but it does need some serious reinforcement in the sides and corners to stop the zip from being pressured!!
But in all honesty .. not that I use it .. But I was well impressed by the little secret pocket in the top inside of the lid.
I got it for cost which made things easier.
I hate buying bags and flight's ... I cant help but think of all the records I am missing out on!! hehee
After going through two trolley bags a year, I went back to creates and a collapsible trolley, kept breaking the trolleys as well until I found the “Trunk Trolley” built by Aussie Trolleys, I have never had a problem with it and it also came with a warranty.

Yeah it’s something extra to carry but it meant I could put my precious vinyl back into a solid create and I can also get someone else to pull the records and I can just sit on the create and enjoy the ride!!!
I also have the bonus of being able to put the trolley somewhere else and I don’t have a bulky trolley bag to deal with in the record shelf (which is always tiny)…
Mind you I play 4 nights a week so you might get a better result if you play less!
i dunno if it's just mine that sucked, but i would not recommend technics bags. the shoulder strap breaks within months. also same thing happened to my non-trolley technics bag, but after a few years.
the plastic clips just ended up snapping.
