I love the way inthemix proclaimes its authority on the web in dance music, yet they use javascripts to cheat impressions and lie to their advertising representatives. If you cant beat em, cheat em.

Shame......

Sounds to me like a personal problem whixh you would be best to keep private!

People will have a much higher level of respect for your opinion than you just coming out and trashing people without any proof!

Keep your Private Problems Private

I'm not getting into this but if you would like to discuss this with the site's webmaster email Andre at djdrey@inthemix.com.au

You two can then talk javascript issues till your hearts are content.

To which advertising reps has inthemix lied, Mr Valentino?
I would like to see some proof of this, because it is bullshit.
If you have a genuine issue to discuss, why not call email/call us and let's ear it.

Unsubstantiated slanderous comments like that are way out of line We all put hours of our time into this site FOR FREE ! None more so than the guy who created it in the first place. Have a little more respect for people who simple love dance music.

As my fellow ITMers have commented, feel free to contact the above addresses with your issues rather than using the forums.

Valentino,

Though my collegues have done a stirling job replying to your note, I thought I'd answer your strange post.

The code used to serve advertisments on this site is supplied by the adserving and representation comapny BMCMedia (ads served by Sabela.com).

Though you are very vague when it comes to specifics, I am assuming your are querying the use of Javascript to pull the ads. This is used (I believe) to ensure an ad is requested each time the page is displayed, ensuring an <b>accurate</b> count of page impressions for advertisers. It helps to negate the use of proxy servers and local cache's which result in ads being served from cache's and hence no accurate counts can be supplied to the advertisers.

You said: "yet they use javascripts to cheat impressions and lie to their advertising representatives."

This is just plain wrong. The code used is supplied by our representative. We are using the EXACT code that they have given to us.

Why you decided to post this in a public forum rather than take it up with us personally makes me wonder whether there is any alterior motive behind your post. Seeing as you profess to like this site, do you not understand that spreading such false rumours can damage our reputation and hence our ability to provide this site to you.

I trust this helps explain the issue(s) for you. If you, or anyone else would like to confirm any of the above, please contact me via email (djdrey@inthemix.com.au) and I will put you in touch with our account managers at BMCMedia.com

Just as an aside, if we were cheating our advertisers, wouldn't we do it all over the site? If you'd like to check some of the other pages on the site which we do our own ad-serving for, there is no such 'cache-buster' code.

Oh and one other thing..

You said: "Server Side Clickthroughs"

JavaScript is a <b>CLIENT-SIDE</b> technology, not server-side.. If you'd like me to explain the difference I'd be happy to do so.

Valentino,

Why do you post messages like this? You have done it to us at TS before. Where r u from? Obviously you dont know how hard websites like ITM, TS, Raves, Overdrive work to get an enjoyable enviroment for its users. Does anyone really give a toss about this subject?

The End!
