he means this - which has everything you need for what you want - you don't need to buy Scratch Live or the SL 1 interface as it is built in

I have a UREI 1601s I will be looking to get rid of pretty shortly? It comes with an onboard
sampler etc.

I would be looking at the following:
RANE TTM57SL $2000
RANE Empath GMF Edition (Just looks cooler than the blue or black  ) $1500
ECLER Nuo 2 $650
Vestax PMC007 $1500
Mackie d.2 $1300 Not sure but it seems to have the goods for what you want

Pioneer 909 or whatever it was called - you guys know the one I am talking about , used by Scratch Perverts so it must of been pretty good

They would be my top 5 and definitely the mixer of choice by some of the worlds best of the genre you are suggesting

My advice - try something until you are comfortable and they get it.
But remember - sooner or later if you play out, your going to have to learn to play on a variety of mixers - so don't become too dependent on any unique features your mixer has

Enjoy

i would say don't get one of those if you ever intend on taking scratch live outside of your bedroom and into a club

Ecler Nuo3 dude...rip out the stock fader and whack in a Eternal scratch fader. For under $1000 you'll get a sick ass mixer that has all u need for scratchin it up.

Oh I might looking to sell mine and trade up to a Nuo5 - so PM me if u interested

Well I wouldn't say that. You'll always find different club set ups and you may as well have fun at home. If the goal is to practice to become a scratch DJ then it won't make much difference at all.

That sounds practical...NOT

The TTM57SL is good for home use, but what are you going to do at a gig when most of your music is on your laptop and you have no SL1 box to plug in and there is no way in hell you'll be changing DJ mixers mid-set?

Everyone I know with a TTM57SL has an SL1 box also.

The smart move if the budget didnt stretch to both is get a TTM56 + Scratch Live.

what mixer has dj q-bert got???

he is sponsored by vestax, so he mainly uses vestax. the 2 brands are the stock standard choice in the battle world. the new PMC08 looks rather tasty.

I meant 1600 for the Empath GMF edition
Sorry

Look around harder - actually go into a store and talk prices if you are serious and you'll get it at a 1600ish
