Disappointed with the TekDayze area indeed. Being one who was primarily there for this area, it was a disgustingly small, little dirt bowl. I had to leave as I couldn't breathe.

Adam Beyer was very good, however he played that attrocious bootleg which take a Purpose Maker track and hashes it with "Spin Me Round".... ugh!

DJ Heaven, what school did she learn to mix at? Overlap four beats then move the crossfader, very average. Props though for her playing "Jaguar" by Rolando, the new remix of Green Velvet's "Answering Machine" and the oldie "Altered States" by Ron Trent. Why do promoters bring these djs over? Because they look good, and all the guys swoon, get over it.

The cooling agents were unreal admittedly, and that guy with that mega watergun, you fucking rocked!

As the sun went down, the atmosphere was beautiful. The vista, the sounds, the people, and relief from the heat.

A fun day all the less, a huge party environment!

I thought Summadayze was incredible. Sure, the Tek area was a little dusty, but Beyer toar it up. He's incredible. And Christian Smith played that crazy Dust Trax record - y'know 'shake that ass and bounce those tits' - which is infectious.
It was cool hearing Mull drop the Sims mix of The Mole as well. And Beyer dropping Mutate and Survive was a highlight too.
Good vibe I thought - and I usually hate Future's events, but Summadayze was a charm.
Must agree - that Spin Me Round bootleg is terrible. It's like the aural equivalent of a cowboy hat - hideously unironic.

I was only at summadayze for three hours and only to see Beyer. Wanted to catch Smith but went to Inner City to see Devilfish live and boy i am glad i did. Inner City sucked too BTW, no crowd no atmosphere BUT awesome sound and the best dancing surface i have ever come across!

Tekdayze was pathetic. Beyer was funky as hell. loved every second. Same with Mull...excellent just wish it wasn't on dirt so we could have been able to breathe every time a track with a bit more tempo got played.

Also what about them running out of water?

Summadayze in my view was a typical future party. Can't say i'd ever go again. The view from the bowl over looking the city however is pretty magical.

Just my 2c. I thought summerdayze2001 was amazing too. And Digweeds suprise set was a nice bonus too.

future rip off melbourne again. soon they will get what they deserve. they cannot go on treating the community with contempt. after victoria's chief medical officer questioned their water ban on abc radio this morning, expect further media scrutiny. expect mark james to becomes even more paranoid. what does he expect? the man's making money but doing it all wrong. clearly he doesn't give a @!#$.

I came to Summadayze with ideas in my head, people telling me "don't go there! it is just going to be full of trashed people", "it's going to be messy", and of course "how are you going to have a good time dancing in that heat!" et al.

Let me just say that I can not think of a better way to have started 2001!

Summadayze was an exceptional event. The only disappointment was the water fiasco.

I think from the smiles on everyone I met I was not alone with the fun and friendliness of this event.

The music was fantastic, in a word...

Summadayze was a big let down - actually no, it was just as I expected which was even more of a let down.

Speaking for myself, i had a sensational time , heard some great music danced all day and best of all met some great people. I think it was one of the best atmospheres i have been apart of. The only down side was the shortage of water and the poor accessibility to taps to refill your water bottle which may seem a little tight but im not paying $50 over a day for water.
Can not wait for next year , come on two tribes.Wayne wrote:
