Just bough one second hand and have found out that when you put the crossfader curve onto the mode where as soon as you move it a little both channels are up full (what ever technical name is) both channels are on when its all the way to the right, on the left its ok and in normal mode its fine, any idea if they just need a clean or need replacing, if they need replacing i have found 2 options:

Normal for $49 (http://www.dmcrecords.com.au/article.asp?type=3&id=435)

Or

Pro for $120 (http://www.dmcrecords.com.au/article.asp?type=3&id=431)

Has any one used the pro and is it worth going the pro for a bedroom set up?

Also anyone know of anywhere else with better prices?

Thanks.

There is a little tiny black knob on the mixer that will let you adjust the sensivity of the chanels mixing, be sure to play a little with that before assuming your cross fader is busted.
If you see that the bars around the cross fader are partly gone then it may be that the cross fader has been well used. If you purchased from a guy that scratch a lot well no wonder.
Normal = bedroom
If you do a lot of scratching then pro may be will last longer, not sure.
Though I was not aware they were 2 types available for DXm06...that is news to me...
Anyway as far as mxing goes (If not scratching all day long), normal should be right (Lol buy 2).

Good luck,

Forgot about the price, $49 seems in the norm, may be you can get it at $40 but I doubt you will find that for $25...Anyway try:

Then also tell me the price out curiosity, thanks

if you find out the direct details of a melbourne repairer you can probably get the faulty slide contact for $20 or less.

will let you know as soon as they get back to me.

Only thing is i used it today and the fader is working fine again.......

Obviously theres a problem there somewhere tho so i will still get a new one for when it completely dies.

Can i just add a question to this thread..

I have a behringer DJX700. How easy would it be to put one of those optical cross faders (or just a better crossfader) in it? Would it only cost $45?

Do i just take my mixer down to the shop or.. can i buy the parts and do it myself?

no. you can only put in cross faders that are designed to go in the unit.

and why you would spend $150++ on a cross fader and put it in a $300 mixer anyway? just save the money for a slightly less shit mixer ;)

I've just ordered a DMX06 off the net..... what can I expect, are they good mixers?
How is the effects unit on it?

LOL you ask the question after having ordered...???Okay I did not see your littletwistedbrain... I think they are good enough for a beginner to medium user...effects are okay...it is a good little machine to start with, and very good value as well. I don't think you will be disapointed if you do not think too much about it
