Good looking records (Bukem's label?) seems to be where it's at. I have a copy of a recent album by Nookie on this label, I think this may be the sound you're after.

In Sydney check out ALF, he's the bad boy of jazzy dnb.

Yep, i think the earlier logical progressions ones are better though.

Also try Kruder and Dorfmeister mixes which include but are not limited to jazzy dnb. Their DJ Kicks mix on !K7 has some of the best jazzy DnB tracks ever (in my opinion anyway) with tracks like The Lab Rats' Give My Soul and a v cool track I often play in chill sets... In Too Deep by JMJ & Flytronix.

Good Call Everyone !!!

Logical Progression 1 Rules !, especially 'Western' with Conrad Mcing !.

Also check any of the EARTH cds, from LTJ's side label, Grooverider - Mysteries of Funk, Omni Trio, E-Z Rollers and on a chilled-out tip Big Bud.

Local Perth crew Rhibosome are wicked too with a few jazzy drum n bass choons in their set !. Check it out !.

For a timeline of the genre check out 'DJ SS presents Jazz & Bass Sessions' - Volume 1 would probably be deleted by now, but 2 & 3 are still available through Inertia (I think!).

Also peep artist albums by:
Peshay
EZ Rollers
Alex Reece

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I went down today to buy Logcial Progressions.

I found it, for $75!!!

*Gulp*

I think I’ll go for LTJ Bukem’s 99-02 rarities comp – producer 5 for $35, heres the tracklist:

1 Jackal's Theme
2 Couple of Beats
3 Delitefol
4 Logical Progression
5 Listen
6 Rainfall
7 Logical Reprise
8 Dream World
9 Bookworm
10 David Arnold - Bond (theme - Ltj Bukem Remix)
11 Herbie Hancock - Essence (ltj Bukem Remix)

if its got a Herbie Hancock track it can’t be half bad.

& yeah I’ll go checkout Airbourne.

Thanks again.

Yeah, definitely check out LTJ Bukem's Logical Progressions & Progression Sessions Compilations.

I have Logical Progression Level 1 (Limited Edition version with bonus Classics cd) and Progression Sessions America Live 2001, both highly recommended.

Most of it is kinda atmospheric/trancey drum&bass with a bit of the jazzy stuff but that's how I prefer it anyway.

Don't forget LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad are playing at the Metro on saturday 22nd of June. I have my ticket.

If you really like your brazillian side of things you have to get Cool Steps Drum n Bass Grooves mixed by Dj Patife

Artists to look out for this kinda sound are (ive included a bit of liquid funk as well):

Dj Patife (this guy is a master, i rate his production over marky's)
XRS Land
Joao Parahyba
Marky
Cosmonautics
Truby Trio
Esum
Technozoide

Solid State
Ez Rollers
60 Minute Man
London Electricity
Danny Bird
Carlito & Addiction
High Contrast
Delta
4 Hero
Marcus Intalex & St Files (MIST)
MISTICAL (mist & Calibre)
Bad Company - Revisited

John B produces a lot of this kinda stuff but his sound is a bit mixed, check out "They way I feel" which is a very nice laid back jazzy number

MC Conrad - i was surprised when I had a listen to a couple of his cds in sanity, he produces some pretty top quality stuff - check out Future's Call (Makoto mix)

That should be enough to keep you busy for a while.

there is a magazine called Knowledge, it's a U.K Drum and Bass mag that comes with a free CD, so far they have all been good. The ones by Jon B and Hospital Records are particularly funky.

I would also reccomend DJ Marky and anything by LTJ Bukem and Conrad.

Thanks guys for all the above, heres my discoveries.

Airbourne – good place for some cruisy drinks with chilled music.

Caught DJ Suv – had awesome time. Really liked ALF who played before.

Missed LTJ but picked up his live in Japan CD – really like this CD.

Next purchase is probably a reprazent CD.

Also really like the concept of having two cd’s both with the same tracks, but one being live with an MC over the top. Are there any other DnB cd’s like this?

For Jazzy DnB.. Get Liquid Funk by Fabio. Is a compilation consisting of Peshay, Carlito & Addiction, Fellowship etc etc. Good Looking stuff is good also but this is slightly more uplifting. Its old but by far the best Jazzy Dnb CD ive come across.

Standout Tracks: Primary Motive - Who Has The Jazz
Peshay - Disco
Carlito - Heaven
