Heading to thailand in June, obviously stuff is quite cheap there and was wondering, say in Bangkok can you get dj gear/hardware cheaper there?

I was just there and noticed Pioneer gear was very popular in all the small little bars\clubs etc. Id say it may be a little cheaper .. but you gotta get it back into the country !

Also .. if I laid down more then 1k on say a cdj or 2 .. and something went wrong with them .. you gotta think .. it may be worth the extra cash to have local support \ warranty.

I suppose the thing is no matter where you go pioneer ain't going to be much cheaper. I also doubt my chance of finding some old synths.

Try MBK shoppping center on top floor lots of electronics as I remember, cannot remember if there was any DJ equipment though but since DJing has become more popular, yoiu might find stuff...funny place though, so try before you buy.

Though I would stick with BlahBlah, especially for top of the range...lots of con in Bangkok...

Yep, I wouldn't bother, electronics and stuff didn't seem that much cheaper then what you can find in Australia to be honest, plus being Bangkok they will try and rip you off in some way.

Thailand is a shithole for buying DJing equipment and vinyl.

There's a Pioneer shop in Siam Paragon which has all the Pioneer crap and there is a DJ shop opposite the nightclubs in Royal City Avenue (RCA). He doesn't have too much and the prices are worse than what you will find in Australia. He did have Scratch Live and some 90's model SL1200LTD's.

Although Thailand has a reasonable (hip hop) DJ Culture presence, most of their gear and music comes from overseas. There's not the choice that you have here.

The best Asian country for DJ needs is by far Japan.
