Key Lock!!
Thats wicked! I wasn't sure whether Serato had this or not, but now I know it definetely does I am that much more inclined to get it at some stage. Have you used this new version? Does the key lock glitch or degrade the audio at all? Just cos I remember using those Stanton digital decks that had a key lock and any pitching over 2% or so would cause this really annoying glicthing. Considering Serato time and pitch is an amazing time stretch plugin though I would expect this to be massively superior.
   :P
From what i've read it degrades the audio less than CDJ1000 does....
but you start to notice it when pitched over 6% when scratching... somethging like that can't remember exactly

yeah i had a play around with it yesterday - i couldnt hear any degrading of the audio at all
i dont use serato to scratch though so can't comment on what its like there
where's the cheapest place to buy? any suggestions?
don't forget about traktor scratch :P
just came out, i crossgraded from traktor 3 for US$450. :)
traktor 3.3 comes out at the end of the month giving you all the traktor features with vinyl (or cd) control ;)
you can even crossgrade from serato if you want.

Sounds like an act of desperation doesn't it?
If a product was really good, people would be jumping on to it in droves like they did when Scratch Live came out. Majority of the initial Scratch Live users were FS1 and FS2 users. I don't see anyone jumping on this! NI were already part of 3 failed attempts at Final Scratch and now this is their 4th attempt. Somehow I don't think people want to get burned again or be paying for softwsare upgrades

Pretty piss poor effort TT. It's like you've been lurking for months just BUSTING for this thread. Dude, it's a new product. Amazingly, manufacturers come up with those from time to time.
Now, FS was a STANTON product. not an NI one. And who would have thought that NI, makers of the world's biggest selling DJ software, would come up with an integrated solution.
SSL is a good product, but it's couple of years old now man, so it would stand to reason that a current one would trump the current stock. I would have thought Rane would have gone some way to giving customers some decent value on the interface by this stage too. Phono brick which doesn't pass thru audio unless the computer's on, anyone?
Anyone interested here - TT works for the aussie SSL bunch and I for the NI lot. SO we can bash heads all we like. But as far as informed decisions go, check out what SSL offers and what Traktor Scratch does. Software AND hardware. Same price pretty much. Honestly in my rep mode, SSL is starting to look a bit 'open source' if you ask me compared to NI's newie.
Desperation? Look in the mirror buddy.

Gotta laugh at that one too. Features dude. Check up on what TS has. The kill. You either wait 2 years for your freebies to get implemented, or you get them all at the start. Choice?
