As opposed to the "this is how to plug in your turntable" operation manual, Im chasing a service manual for the Stanton ST150 Just wondering if anybody out there has one they might consider passing on? (soft copy, or hard copy pending location). Seems they are few and far between, and no surprises that local service agents dont want to pass them on  but if anybody can help that'd be great.
cheers

Um yeah good luck with that  Considering st-150's have only been around for 4-5 years and having recently spoke to my turntable guru and all the guys I know at shops these turntables never come in for repair. Most service people I know dont even have a manual for 1200's let alone these. Cant even find evidence that one is available for purchase :rainman: Has urs gone south? Or do u just wanna have a play perhaps ;)

yeah, i have a recurring problem where i come home from being away, and one of my tonearms is bent... :stroke:
this is the second time its happened and the blokes i had repair it the first time initially suggested i might like to do the repair myself. since they did a pretty average job of it themselves when i paid them to do it, i was just gonna do it myself, but didnt want to break the thing pulling it apart - figured a guide (if it was out there) might be helpful. Thanks for the heads up anyway, good to hear that the ST150's are holding their own out there so far (other than at my place! )

I don't know how they possibly can repair them as the service manuals contain the complete parts list for them unless they like playing the "Guess which part I want" game with Panasonic.
I have service manuals for every SL1200 made except for the SL1200MK4. It's not a secret society, Panasonic make them available for all their service agents
For Stanton parts etc, contact the distributor Jands Electronics. They're at 40 Kent Road Mascot.

I have pulled them apart to fix something minor but they are easy to work on.
To get the tonearm out unscrew the feet and undo all of the base screws then then unsolder the 4 or 5 wires that go up to the needle unscrew one more screw and the whole tonearm assembly comes out.
IF you do get hold of a service manual I would be interested in a copy.
Cheers,
Steve

How to bend a tonearm - two easy options
Method 1: Have your brother put a stack of books on top of your turntable while ur not around
or, if your brother does not posess such skills -
Method 2: Let your brother have a party while you are away so his superstar dj mates can come in and plant their fat arse on the table and sit on your tonearm. If they are the true superstars they claim to be, by the end of the session they should also be able to snap the arm on the headshell, and smash your LED.
Make sure you try your hand at both methods within a 12 month period to ensure you have perfected the technique. :thumb:

Thats why I used to put a cover over my decks and take the headshells off when I go away for work! Even take the power cords out if you have to. But that doesn't solve the problem of putting books on them. Maybe invest in some travel cases or a new brother...
