I just bought a new camera, i had NEVER used an SLR before, so sorry if these arent up to scratch, but i took these off my back verandah last night, and i thought they looked rather nice and they reminded me of how awesome my house is, so close to state forest and only 25 mins from the city.

Yeah, I'll have to dig out the original scan and get back to you. Not sure where it is right now. The window of opportunity for that shot during the post-sunset twilight was so incredibly narrow. I took a handful of photos, yet yielded only a couple capturing the crimson colours as you see there.

In case you're interested, it was shot on Kodak HD film (ISO200), with (if I remember) a 20-35mm lens set to around 24mm, aperture approx f/22 with an 8 second exposure. One or two graduated filters were used to hold back the exposure on the sky. In hindsight, I wonder how it may have turned out with the grad filter rotated to block more of the water on the right (as you can see how it's darkened the tops of the jetty poles at the moment).

Oh, and a Smirnoff Ice Double Black (or two) was consumed in the making of that photo, while honeymooning along Western Australia's coastline, this jetty at Denham, Shark Bay, on the outskirts of Cyclone Willy. Good times, indeed.

Spectrum, that photo is absolutely fantastic. The 8s exposure gives the water a really pleasing effect, but not overdone either.

Top notch.
