Hey guys i have searched google briefly and cant really find anything too informative. Just wondering is the DJM400 basically like a 600 only its 2 channels instead of 4?

Check the manufacturer's website, download their manual, look at the pics etc etc

I think the extra 2 channels are basically the only difference between the two. The DJM600 has more effects but both have the in beat sampler.

I own a DJM400 and I love it for its features and simplicity.
