Anyone else?
Generally renowned as a POS.
If your after CD players, Pioneer, Denon or Vestax (tascam)

Yeah but we aren't all rich and the pioneer touch sensetive ones are a rip off and I don't like the denon ones.
vestax then..... if you have a turntable, you can buy the tascam TTM1

my mates got the c314 setup, not a single thing wrong with em, and i was floggin the absolute shiat out of em in scratch mode...bashing the buttons, going nuts on em. didn't skip a beat. Don't always go with what the rest of the crowd is saying ;) most people just hear about them from another persons friends experience.

My mate also got the c14's they are awsome..
Compared to the pioneer 200's they are alot better..
You get a 1000 times better plate. The 200's plate feels like its going to snap. The stanton plate feels more like the 800's. You get awsome built in effects. You get memory samples and loops and all that shiz.
People keep saying stanton isnt good get pioneer i cant understand why? some1 care to Explain on why pionner lets say 200's are better?

bought the c314 off ebay with a mate last week.. my first dj set-up so i cant compare to the rest but i love em.. absolute beginner and have already picked up the basics, awesome fun.. great effects and scratch wheel for the price
aint nuthin wrong with Numark these days, pretty good stuff for a decent price.
I'd go a icdx (http://www.numark.com/productoverviews/Numark_iCDX_PRODUCT_OVERVIEW.pdf) over a c314 anyday
and it's cheaper.
Just thought I'd add another (often overlooked) brand to the mix...

Some people will put choose Pioneer because they think (Or by personal experience) in term of durability and how well the Pio can take abuses, some other people will say Pioneer because simply they heard about it and they have been brainwashed in the sense that they never have even tried any of the gear they have already formed an opinion on things they never tried.
In term of features I agree the c314 has much more than the CDJ200, but in term of durability that is something else, I cannot really say. In term of price Stanton is very reasonable, it is really hard to say for durability unless you really try it for a long time and also against another unit to see which one is going to give up first.
Then there is the feel issue, where some will not like the feel of this player or that player because it feels like plastic. But honestly you can surely put a great night with any of the players out there, the only thing that will separate them is how long one can withstand the abuses gigs after gigs.
The best way at the end is to go to your local DJ store, ask them if you can try a few models, and just play around and see which one feels right for you, and then ask the staff about it. What you don't want to buy is a unit that is know for its weakness, so hope the staff will be honest enough to say which one they have many returns or warranty calls for.
