two big outdoor parties following each other - make that three, Earthcore is on just before Outback Eclipse Festival! Unfortunatly, I can only do one and it will be the Outback Eclipse.. don't think anyone can beat the offering of a full solar eclipse :P
Actually have heard that some Melbourne people are coming straight the 2 the outbackeclipse after earthcore so if u could get those crazy cats to also come to enchanted wouldn't that just be a colourful sight to see! ;)

Oddy - spill the beans, who's playing Enchanted this year?
i can't say yet sorry .. but let me say this .. all junglists and hard house bots will be over the moon and techno and house headz well catered for .. the venue is possible the best yet ..
keep ya eyes peeled to this site as we are announcing a different act every 2-3 weeks ..
tickets on sale july 1st
And I guess the country and western heads miss out yet again! :( :P
Went to my first EF last year... think I'll be pretty much a regular now. It's just something about a rave/dance party/whatever in the outdoors that gets me moist!! :P
I liked the venue last year but was hoping that it would be amongst loads of trees and grass etc... The image I'm getting in my head is much the same as Kryal Castle (adventjah) which was earlier this year at Ballarat. The backdrop was trees on a hillside (if you've been there then you'll know what I mean) with a laser shooting onto them etc.. made for an awesome sight when entering the complex.
My thoughts for the day!
:)

Get your earlybird tickets online at:
http://www.inthemix.com.au/whatson/
:)
Couple of things....
1) ITM has them advertised at $45 + bf.
2) Venuetix doesn't have them online at the moment.
Please explain! ;)
venuetix have now got them avaliable over the phone as i just got myself a few.
I just went into Korruption and they said they hadn't received tickets yet....
I think I'll ring venuetix... get it sorted.

We've been given second wave Earl Bird tickets (ie $45) not first (ie $35)... so it's cheaper at other places ATM.

when will the organizers make room for some goa/psy trance djs @ such events? I gotta say i find it odd that the most intense sonic form of electronic music is often over looked by promoters!
now why would that be?
If psy/goa DJ's and performers contacted us i'm sure we could organise something .. but they havent for the last 4 enchanted's !

Suzuki and Return to the Source a club and label that treats it parties as a the continuing of ancient dance ritualsWe view the dance floor as a sacred space where we can connect with our power. To create this sacred space, we use totemic art and props, created by visionary artists. A large crystal is hung above a seven pointed star in the centre of the dance floor. The star symbolises the grounding of cosmic energy into the physical plane.
Goa Trance is recognizable by the following characteristics that distinguish it from other forms of Trance,
a very steady 4/4 beat.
lots of very psychadelic sounding wobbly noises, and acidy sounds.
a lot going on, noise wise. No poncey Detroit minimalism here - just chuck in loads of boingy wibbly noises, all on top of eachother. Imagine early Eat Static, but with less imaginative rhythms, and you're getting close. Pyschedelia is the key.
It is traditional, but not obligatory, to have at least one sample from a cheesy 50s Sci-Fi film or Star Trek sample per track. "All channels and frequencies clear", "The electrons do it to the neutrons, the neutrons do it to themselves", kind of thing.
Tracks generally go on for ages.,
Or in my onwords its the trance that you will see crusties jugglers fire twirlers and eaters with dogs on a string- the perfect soundtrack to a pot of shroom tea ;) :tripping: :D

Yes i did mean the wrong crowd, like gangster wannabes, people who try so hard they beleive they have to dress in black, and look like they work at a funeral parlour, people who are rude etc or too intense on the drug shit they forget what its all about.
I beleive Bass Station in melbourne has a policy of a certain type of clothing to be worn (no all black, sneakers etc). While it might not keep all the wankers out, it does filter some of them out.

Pretty much any style of music can incorporate these things, it just depends on how creative the producers are.

It's very different to the original though. Same melody but the feel of the track is completely different. Not saying that I disagree with you saying it's not dark as a muthafuka but the orange theme wasn't the exact track I had in mind when I was talking about dark and evil sounding trance..... (although I do think the original is pretty dark and evil).

Firstly, not only is this a bad remix but it is cheesy as all hell and hardly comparable to the original! Completely taken the edge off it.
Secondly, the reason that people listen to music isn't to get depressed or feel morbid (unless you're a goth) ;)
It's to feel good and be inspired!
It doesn't matter haw dark or evil a tune is, if it is in a style that you love you will find it uplifting.
Take Lamb's 'Gorecki' for example or much of Massive Attacks back catalogue. This is as downtempo a tune as you can get. However, despite the fact it is bittersweet, for the millions of peiople who love it they will find it enormously uplifting.
edit: & what Aaron said ;D
