Played a bit of the xbox at the consumer electronic show at fox studios on the weekend. Pretty bloody impressive, it's the first time i've actually played it for more than 3min. Maby it was the huge projection screens and the sound being cranked up to deafening volume, but it definetly rocked!.

I had a go of Project Gothem Racing and Halo. Gothem was really nice, i know most ppl would prefer gt3 over it, but the graphics are better on gothum and i thought that the physics had a nicer feel to it. It's probably a bit arcady for some driving fans, but fun all the same. I suppose it's not as indepth as gt3 as well.

Halo was heaps of fun, was able to play it with a friend in a bit of DM which was hillarous. driving around in tanks and buggies while trying to figure out the controls. very nice tho, the controls would take a bit of getting used to , but the controler is such a better design than others on the market. actually made for adult hands (shock horror). took a bit of getting used to after being brought up on quake (mouse/keyboard).

my impression at the end of the day, I WANT ONE.....i don't have the cash or time tho.

a couple of other interesting things at the show, new cd burner from yamaha, that allowed you to burn pictures into the back of cd, i assume by burning some trenches and leaving others so to affect the way light was reflected. looked really good - however a friend then told me that u can only burn it on parts of the cd that are empty....so if u burnt a 80min music cd , there'd be no space for pics i guess....still good idea tho.

3d goggles were there too ($150 for the card and goggles) ....works on 90% of pc games...pretty cool but prolly just a gimmick.
