After selling my cdj's to pay off my credit card I have been thinking about which road I will travel down next. I have searched the forums and read the debates of cdj's vs serato vs various other programs similar and I think I've decided on Serato. Now that they have key lock, the advantages of cdj's are minimal.
I kept my two turntables as I didn't think I could recover as much money selling them and my records (remember I needed cash to pay off the dreaded CC) So in addition to Serato I've just seen a VERY interesting utube clip (view http://www.piengineering.com/xkeys/xkpro.php) This means that looping is made very very easy and there's no fiddling with the mouse thanks to a heap of shortcuts.
I'm not a 'dj' so carting all of this junk to 'gigs' isn't an issue. It will all stay in the same spot at home and hopefully get more love and attention than it has had in recent times.
So has anyone used the X-keys in conjuntion with Serato? How did you find it?
The xkeys is $206 AU not including shipping and Serato is about $650 again not including shopping. Still less expensive than one brand new cdj800.
Thoughts? Comments? Flames?
Cheers guys, Renee
