I want to add my laptop to my current set up of 2 cdjs.
It's quite obvious how one goes about changing the pitch in ableton (just use the master tempo adjust) but i dont know how to temporarly 'pitch bend' in ableton so that i can bring it back in time should i start to slip out during a mix.
Advise please.
Also if thre is anyone out there who is doing what i want to do, how do you go about controlling the pitch and the pitch bending? I'm about to buy a new midi controller so i figured i'd make sure i bought one with a few knobs and sliders to make it easier to control.

i don't know how its done as i don't use ableton, however when i used to play back to back with an ableton user he had two keys assigned to bend the pitch in either direction, so its definitely possible

haven't had the chance to try it out yet, but I've heard good things.

^hey, that's almost exactly what i'm after.
Anyone used it? i want it to respond similar to the way the denons do, and by that i mean the pitch should bend further and further the longer you hold the button down.
I'll try this as soon as i get home from work.
Cheers Omni!
That will do what you want.
Its very very handy.

The other alternative is a piece of hardware by Redsounds (I forget the name of it, I will ask my mate, he has one) which automatically bpm syncs Ableton with the track playing on vinyl or CDJ and keeps it in time despite wavering of pitch, provided obviously you've warped your tracks properly!
It looks like great, especially if you play b2b with someone who has Ableton and you have CDJs, lots of looping and shit! :-D

that would be handy so you could leave it and not worry about it! but you can do it by tapping the tempo in quite easily

alternately just get a Nuo 5 which has an internal bpm counter that allows you to sync midi
up directly with the output of the mixer

How's the uni holidays sound? I got 2 CDJ-1000s now, let's do some techno on 2 x CDJs + Ableton
Andreas - the only problem with buying a mixer I see is that if you play out, your only option is to then bring the mixer with you, which is a pain in the ass. The micro does what the NUO does, but it's about 20cm in size at most

Fair call.. Totally impractical to take a mixer to a gig with you in most situations.
Have you had a play on the Nuo 5 though?? sex wee..
The other thing which will do exactly this is the Kaoss pad 3.
More than just a looping machine these babies... Total efx package that leaves the pioneer offering in its tracks.

hey i would be interested to know how people have been integrating the soundbite into their setup. PC or Mac? Ableton? Style of music? etc.
