was just listening to the tower of power album "Aint Nothin Stopping Us Now" and for the first time noticed some pretty huge tape warble at around 4:12 on track 4 (Doin Alright).
I know it's a kind of irrelevant point, but do you feel like a lot of the "soul" has been taken out of neo-soul recordings due to the use of digital recording instead of analogue?
To me the sound of tape is kinda neccessary in these recordings, particularly creating the strings and brass sounds, which are dynamic, but sound in place.
Or am I asking a question that noone cares about? :D
