I'm having issues at home with one of my channels. I have a DJM500 and connected to it are two 1210's and two CDJ1000's. The problem is I'm getting much lower levels out of one of my turntables than the other - i.e. I have the gain at about 40% on one and 90% on the other to get equal sound levels. The other turntable and the CDJ's work fine.
At first I thought it could be a problem with my needles as they were a good three years old, so I bought new ones (and new headshells etc) but that's done nothing to resolve the problem. I've tried plugging the turntable into a different channel but the problem doesn't seem to get much better, making me wonder if the problem is with the turntable output itself of I have a problem with the mixer.
Before I take them both in to be serviced, does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be, and if it's something I could fix myself (i.e. dust getting anywhere that could be dampening the output) or whether it's just best to take the offending turntable and the mixer in for a service?
