What's everyone's thoughts about some event organisers claiming they cannot pay hired crew after a particular event (eg. stage productionists, laser/lighting crew, DJs, etc) due to a shortfall of numbers & therefore money, but then seem to have the cash for future events and large promotions that go with it?

Does anyone know what the music/dance industry is doing about this as it just doesn't seem fair.

Mara you're completely right. That's crap that event organisers would do that.

I have no idea if the dance music industry is going to do anything about this but realistically it doesn't seem likely. The industry is highly unprofessional when it comes to things like this and tends to shy away from contracts unless forced to use them.

There is a lot of tidying up needed in this industry fbefore it can taken seriously.
