Hello people,

I have just uploaded my first gallery and need a bit of help with the last step. If any other contributors out there are familiar with this please hit me back!

I have created the gallery and gallery index and uploaded all photos into photos18. My gallery is appearing in the list there. The last step in the instructions after submitting the gallery is to use the number that they give you and go back to photos18 and enter this number in the description field as said here in the instructions

Return to the photos page (opens in new window) and replace the description field with this number. This step is EXTREMELY important, as it links the index entry with the actual gallery.

I must be blind :rainman: because I can't find the description field where I need to enter this number.

Any help much appreciated!

So you have the index number? Then click on Manage>> Create a Photo Gallery (top right of this page), find your gallery, click on description, and enter the index number.


It's a weird bug- If you're on the page where it deplays the Index number, and click the link 'return to gallery page', you'll return to the gallery page, but without any of the editing features/links (so no description button). So go to the gallery page by Manage>> Create a Photo Gallery

If that makes sense

How long usually till they go public?

Just depends when the moderator/ITM staff have time to approve it and make it public. It shouldn't be longer than 1 business day.

how long ago did you upload it? i can take a few days to go thru the approval process.
They usually only knock them back if they are deemed inappropriate for general viewing.

If you have any questions about the approval of your gallery, you can always email your state editor they'll help you out for sure :thumb:

nah its true, im cursed. its to do with gallery merging. someone else always beats me to put a gallery up and for some reason theres always issues with merging mine... thats why it took 4 weeks for my future music gallery to finally reach the light of day. i had it submitted on time i swear! :lol:

^^pfft.. quit your whingin... ive lost 6 (or more now) to merging probs. even worse is that they WERE the original albums but after the back end falls over like it ALWAYS does when it gets too full, mine fell into obscurity and were never to be seen again :(

fuck yeah! i thought they just made up the whole merging problem just coz they hated me :lol:

yeah I was a bit pooey that someone beat me to it. I wanted my highlight photo on the main page :(

I like them. Particular your highlight photo. You've done really well in capturing people having fun. If I had to criticise, in some of the photos there's a bit of empty space around the subjects. Don't be afraid to get right up close or use the zoom to fill up more of the frame of the photo with your subject.

But don't take that as a black & white rule. Sometimes either way will work. There's a few of your photos where there is a lot of empty space, but I think it makes it look interesting.

thanks for the feedback! true i should really get closer to people ARGH! hahaha! how crappy are the Hot Chip photos from the metro??

I do use an external flash! Which venues do you people usually shoot?
