Ok I've just got Traktor Scratch, and its all working. As before, I've plugged the outs of my mixer into the ins of the MOTU ultralite, whic goes to the speakers. The MOTU is also the soundcard for my computer

I was thinking a more elegant solution would be to use the AUDIO 8 as the sole interface, so that the outs of the mixer go into the audio 8, then the outs from there go into the speakers. Or would it be better if the mixer goes into the speakers?

Anyway is this possible, or evan advisable?

Cheers

Audio8 is in fact a very good soundcard in its own right!

Yes, you can use it as the sole soundcard if that's what you wanna do.

Umm it's up to you I guess. What's the purpose of having your mixer into the MOTU/Audio 8 in the first place? I assume it's for recording/live fx?

Well since I only have one set of speakers, and the Ultralite acts as a mixer, my decks etc are connected to the ins of it.

Pro Tool, what would be the bets routing/configuration option do you think?

Sorry to dig this one up but just wanted to see if other people are using their Audio8 as their sole soundcard? I was going to get Torq but the Traktor package is starting to look like a more flexible option. I don't have a soundcard at the moment and am starting to do more writing on Ableton. I have a passive mic and also an old MC-505 and want to eventually hook these up to the computer (and a midi controller of some type). I'm not sure that the Audio8 has enoughs ins/puts and does it have a pre-amp?
