Hey all,

Was wondering if someone could please instruct me on what to buy for my computer. I am looking for an external midi controller for something like virtual dj. the BCD 2000 looks my best bet for something under 300. i love music and just want to muck around on my comp.

what do i need to buy to split the sound btw my decks. ie. one deck my speakers, the other my headphones.

someone said something about a external sound card.

If anyone could help me that would be amazing.

cheers.

search around on these forums and get a better idea of the BCD 3000

but generally the behringer unit is okay for mucking around. I was under the impression you don't need another sound card when using this.

You don't need to buy anything extra if you get a BCD providing you have a PC with USB, some headphones with one of the larger headphone jacks (if not buy a 3-5mm -> the bigger jack adapter), some speakers to use as monitors with either a 3.5mm stereo input or RCA and some RCA cables or RCA -> 3.5mm.

The BCD's both have built in 24 bit soundcards with 2 outputs and 2 inputs.

I'd get the BCD3000 rather than the 2000. It comes with Traktor 3 LE rather than VDJ (I've never used VDJ but I've had my BCD for about a month now and Traktor has been awesome) and it's more stable. Plus it works on Mac!

I just picked up the M-Audio Xponent and I must say it's kickass. Perfect setup for someone like me that has all their music on mp3, and doesn't really plan on playing clubs ever. It comes with Torq, M-Audio's software, which is really easy to use, but it also comes with a full CC number list, so you can map it in any other software, Traktor/Albeton etc. Only set me back $1100 (thanks ATO for another great tax return!).
