So im slowly building up my begginers setup and i was hoping to get some feedback from people who have used or are still using the Numark DM2050 Mixer. I have chosen this due to a tight budget and blowing most of it on CDJ-800MK2's, atleast thats the plan so far. I plan on playing a broad range of dance/techno/trance/hardstyle, but im not into hiphop so i wont be needing anything specially for that.
As a basic setup, does this sound reasonable to start with? If not, what would be better(around the same price range)?

Hrmm..interesting. I could probably fork out the extra few hundred for that. I keep reading things about it that say how its 'entirely digital'. Are there any hidden disadvantages of this?
"Entirely digital" is generally a bit of an embellishment. In any case, there are no disadvantages whatsoever! Go the DXM06.

DXM06...I am thinking of selling mine. I use to have one then sold it to my friend and got a Denon, then I was a bit nostalgic about it, got an opportunity to buy it from a noob, so went ahead thinking I could have a spare for backup purposes...came to me as good as new, tested it and left it in its original box under the bed. But somehow I don't think I'll be using it...so if you are interested shoot me an offer.

I have a DM2050 and the sound quality is really good but the functions are very basic. In my opinion a great beginner mixer if you are on a tight budget.

This is my advice to any n00b:
1. DO NOT BUY BEHRINGER!
2. ALWAYS BUY 2ND HAND!
Pretty easy...
2. ALWAYS BUY 2ND HAND!
Why?
2. ALWAYS BUY 2ND HAND!
I dont agree.
My mixers get given a pretty hard time, and i presume alot of other dj's do the same.
You dont know what your getting.

I agree with gamblore as long as you've done your research and can try it first. If possible bring a dj friend who knows what to look for...

I think it's better to get a better second hand mixer, than a shitty new mixer. If your buying new and on a budget, then your going to get a lower end mixer or a 'budget' mixer from a lower end company. If you buy second hand you could get a mid to high range mixer from a decent company.
I think as soon as you see the word 'budget' and 'mixer' in the same sentence, warning bells should start ringing.
In falsehopes case, I just got an old second hand Vestax for a similar price to the Numark DM2050. Now there is nothing wrong with the Numark, but I know which one will sound better and last longer.
