Thoughts on Gatecrasher

Hi fellow melbournians (gotta love the weather :( )

Well gatecrasher has been billed (from the last advert i saw) as being "an intimate club experience" and from the latest news looks to be held at what was formerly chasers night club.
Personally i hated chasers it was/is way small , and just genarall abit dingy (in my humble opinion). And after " An evening with john digweed" @ the chevron, i really dont think big events/crowd bringers can be held sucsessfully in small clubs. (dont get me wrong Digweed was awesome but it was a bit like a sardine can of sweaty bodies and smokey air)
any one else have any thoughts on the upand coming gatecrasher and its location (which is not confirmed as of the time writing this)

Yes this weather is fantastic.... So much more fulfilling then walking through the furnace that we have been for the past 3 months... Hmm Gatecrasher- I'd hardly call Gatecrasher "an intimate club experience" (this is not a comment regarding to the quality of the parties mind you!) However thousands of people crammed (even into the docks) was far from intimate. Although the last Gatecrasher served as a brilliant night with intimacy produced only among the friends that shared the memory of the last Gatecrasher with some amazing sets by the local DJ's (READ: OMG IT's JEREMY K! ) I personally don't like chasers nightclub either... and yes large scale events squeezed into a club could be classed as intimate (regarding to the closeness of the hot bodies around you and the inablity to do nothing but lean against the person next to you, infront of you and behind you and bop your head). But nevertheless some of these events turn out to be good I was a previous sceptic of the use of the tennis centre for Two Tribez.... But *shrugz* just wait with anticipation :) to see i guess...

I certainly hope its not in Chasers...as I dont like that place- it has a small dancefloor and shouldnt be used......a better place for such a large and reputable event would be the POW or somewhere else with a @!#$ off sounds system and huge dancefloor.

my thoughts on Cheesegrater...well no point in speculating i think. Maybe that ITM report jumped the gun a little, but with cancellations of other big UK club tours last year, and Creamfields this year, I say wait and see......patience ppl :)

and i agree with the Digweed comment. I had a fabulous time, but it was near impossible to dance :(

I think capsule would be an ideal venue...... very friendly!!! I h8 POW (it's the only club EVER that I have been turned away from- and for no bloody reason i might add) so as far as i'm concerned the P*O*W can kiss my hiney bye bye

Let's hope it's not at chevvy....... altho i'm goin there 2moro night i'm gettin sick of it!!!

Even though I'm not a Melbournian... I doubt it will be at the Chevron, the overseas gatecrasher site gets venues wrong all the time and things always change at the last minute. My guess would be that it would be at a big arse venue, as I'm sure it will be promoted by FE as it has been over the past few years.

ok....yes chasers will close be closing but it will be renovated and re-opened under a new name...or so rumour has it. I guess future will do gatecrasher so its logical that if its at a club it will be at the one future threw some $$$ into..yeap that one in hawthorn....bella....... yes pow , they were once very selective.....but they cant afford to be like that anymore....with so much competition (i.e-that other place in st kilda, with former dj from POW owning a part.) It was one of the best house clubs in melb....but the relaxed door policy just means the same old shite...as anywhere else.
