chosen lords is a winner, but i reckon it's pretty hard to beat selected ambient works one and two.

motion seconded and carried.

lots of cool stuff on the tuss myspace page too.

I think the only thing scarier than rdj's face on the hoochies in the windowlicker clip would be johnny howard's :)

saw him at BDO in Sydney ... he was comfortabley laying on his side with a laptop and a couple of other small boxes ... meanwhile two rather large day-glo teddy bears were making their way through the crowd

i can tell you now i enjoyed his set a whole lot more than the Prodigy that year :meh:

he jammed with luke vibert when i saw him, i had a bad headache so i had to bail. was majorly disapointed in myself.

analord rocks
but as mxmai said the real gems are selected ambient works

i was reading a gig report by a VJ crew who did some work for an Aphex show, and the guy was saying that as well as have total mindfuck visuals being projected on the walls, at one point they had a couple of young girls come out and dance on the stage wearing those creepy Aphex masks.

what a fuck out.

I'd hate for Aphex to go that boring.

but would it be boring? nearly everything he touches turns to gold

I'd hate for Aphex to go that boring.

that's a pretty dumb thing to say ...

i'd sare say 90% of the population out there would say "ambient music" is pretty retardedly boring ... and what is amongst Mr James's most respected works?

That is also a pretty dumb response. Making assertions about what the general populace thinks of ambient music has nothing to do with my opinion that Aphex going dubstep would be a boring move.

I don't think his ambient works are the 'most respected', they are the most accessible however. I think the analord series would be most respected.

he didn't say they are the most respected he said they are amongst the most, singling out one as the most respected would be a purely subjective and relatively pointless exercise

I really don't think Aphex Twin would be a good choice for Prime Minister, to be honest. I mean, he's a musician, he has no political background and I don't think he even has a desire to have one. I imagine he would fuck with his people quite a lot, too, if this absurd fantasy were to somehow come true. Totally don't agree with you at all. I reckon he should stick to making music, personally. And like, even if he was PM, it wouldn't be of Australia, he is not an Australian citizen, so who really cares anyway? I must say I find your comment quite baffling and, I'm sorry, ridiculous. Ridiculous!

Musically though, toooootally over the analord stuff, The chosen lords was great, but yeah, he's done it to death now and I hope that he moves in some strange and exciting new directions. When he is on, it's amazing. I'd love him to try something different and exciting.

i tend to agree on Analord, though. it's cool but seems like a major case of him selling himself short.

I'd like to see him make more tracks like:

Alberto Balsalm, Girl/Boy Song, I'm Self Employed and Pissed up in SE1

the more touching tracks in my opinion.

I was just highlighting how people's perception of any given genre can be counterpointed with examples of that genre that don't comply with the aforementioned perception
