View Full Version : take back the bush
after looking forward to seeing astral projection in the surroundings of nature, i was most disappointed to find myself confined to the walls and roof of capsule nightclub. while there was some attempt to simulate bush surroundings with lights, smoke machines, air conditioning (did anyone else notice that?), it was no substitute for the real thing. this is not the first time bush doof has come under scrutiny from the press, moral majority, etc. i do not wish to see such uplifting experiences as bush parties disappear completely due to negative propaganda and stringent authorities. i urge anyone who loves these events (as im sure you all do) to write to their local mp, to the epa, to anyone who will listen, to lobby these events and their positive nature.
other than that, the event did rock! astral played a great set and i look forward to seeing them again. the venue change did put some sour on the night, but a big cudos to killrockstar and all their efforts. thanks boys and hopefully this is not the end of the supernature saga.

Yeh I'd agree, the beauty of parties in the surroundings of places like earthcore, Kryal, Supernature etc. Is that it is a chance to move out of the smokey, congested confinement of clubs and there is no better feeling then partying under the stars and to be able to breathe fresh air. I recall Scott Alert's morning set @ The earthcore just gone, the sun had just come up, and it had started to bucket down rain... it was the most euphoric feeling dancing to one of Scottie's set's as it bucketed down and he ripped some of the greatest trance tunes... This feeling would not have been the same if we were stuck in a club... (although Scottie's morning sets at HK never fail me!) So I'd agree with Marty... I think that there has definatley been a move in the past 12 months to shut these parties down and not just these parties, but has anyone noticed the change in a lot of events? So definatley make an effort and get some support going, so these guys can keep running their parties... Maybe it's something we should cover on ITM???

a feature in ITM would be great. it would bring about more awareness of this issue and may arouse feelings of injustice in other devoted bush doofers. maybe ITM could focus on social action, or the legalistic side of the issue - KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!!

Give me a warehouse party anyday over the bush... shouldn't we leave mother nature to itself and not destroy it?
Brett, - i dont know what bush parties you've been going to, but the one's ive been to have generally left a pretty clean aftermath. in fact, the morning of a party i was at about two weeks ago saw a great number of revellers picking up after themselves. i agree that we shouldn't destroy nature, but that is not what bush parties are about
I like both styles of parties, but I think i much prefer an outdoor party like Kryal, rather than an outdoor party like earthcore. There is nothing better than partying outside with fresh air under the stars. But the atmosphere created by the different venues appeals to different people, and rocks in different ways.
I still think its an important issue that needs to be covered as part of the happenings of the "scene" in general. Hmmm.
