Has anyone seen this before or used it? Or know anyone that has used it? It appears that you could do alot more with it then Serato, its open source..... I'm still resarching it, but thought I'd ask if anyone else has any experience/opinions?
ms pinky is rather excellent and was licenced by M-Audio in the torq gear, just with an M-Audio logo on it. So is compatible with anything that supports the torq timecode vinyl as well.
the dj program that comes with it is pretty basic but the video scratching features are pretty good.
Also comes as a vst that you can use in ableton etc though it won't sync to the master tempo and is a little bit kludgey to use to mix between ableton and vinyl but for adding live scratching and samples to your track it would be awesome.
If you're into Max/MSP it's pretty easy to make your own pinky widgets and there's lots out there which will do stuff that no other vinyl will let you do, including converting to midi to let you control parameters and tempos in ableton etc.
and if you already have a 4-in/4-out soundcard then this and deckadance will get you going plus give you lots of room to experiment.
Otherwise you could just by the torq vinyl for $20 each but you wont get the groovy Ms Pinky software (and they won't be pink :))
