Just putting my opinion forth referring to this topic of the Mills review - 30/2/01
"The next set was a little ordinary, I thought. It contained all ingredients for a percussive Wet Musik set however it lacked a certain fortified funk, and didn't blend with Jeff very well."
The dj that is being referred to is Damien Laird, and i have a totally different take on that set, he is if not Melbournes finest, track selection, superb, mixing skills, seamless. This guy definately knows how to play a nice deep interesting and in my opinion extrememely danceable set. Which i believe fit in perfectly just before Mr Mills. It had all the write elements of a great techno/electro. Just because we dont hear these sounds as much as the usual regurgitated @!#$ doesnt mean its ordinary.......if damien laird reads inthemix, i want to say.....me and a whole lot of ppl were loving ur set.....education thats what its all about:)
this post was in no way meant to offend but was just to give readers a different take on a set and to up talk someone who deserves more credit that he is given.
peace out
Sara
