View Full Version : A quick Denon question (yes I have read the sticky, searched etc)

I have seen the Denon DNS 3500 ans 5000 for the same price. Logic says that the 5000 would have more features but brochures on the two are not all that clear.

Can anyone tell me whether the 5000 plays mp3's? And apart from the removable cd cartridge what else would make the 5000 better than the 3500.

Thanks

Jim

Hey JK,

I have a comparaison chart for the two, but basically the 5000 seems to have more hot cues loops, sampler stuff, while the 3500 has more effects...The 5000 is apparently BELT driven...while the 3500 is direct drive.
Email me and I'll send you the chart...

The 500 is an older model as well

hmm yeah I got that idea as well but its a bit confusing since the higher model number generally suggests a better product.

well you see originally there was the dns 3000 and the 5000, and the 5000 was better (thus the larger numaber) but then probably because they weren't selling many they made a newer model, the 3500 (sort of like the 3000 1.5) which was better and had a direct drive motor and so on.
