That's very clever indeed........... I wonder how well it would work through the duration of a set - and/or the moment a serious kick fill happens.

It takes an incoming audio signal (either through the headphone jack or effects AUX out) and turns it into midi data. You can also make loops of the incoming midi and it has a digital filter FX of sorts. Download the manual and have alook yourself. It works fairly well, but I don't think Ableton can continually change it's incoming midi signal that well (I'm probably wrong on this though).

Ableton 7 has a neat new feature, Tempo nudge which it seems was inspired by Push and Pull. So with live 7 you will be able to do it no probs.

www.abletonlivedj/forum has info about syncing with Vinyl.

One way to do it .. I've done it trying to lay an acapella over vinyl .. I turned off the "Global Quantize" clock .. or setting it to 0. and then it's a matter of tapping in the tempo .. queing that channel on headphones through one of the mixers channels .. when I thought it was right I queue'ed it up and dropped it in. Turning off the global time clock causes drama's later on though if you want to do say 4 or 5 tunes in Abe .. then jump back to Vinyl. Doing it with CDJ's and a mixer that reads BPM is alot easier.

But yeah check out www.abletonlivedj.com/forum .. heaps of great info.

Dex n Fx is something im trying to get into aswell .. Im just to lazy to rig Abe up with my CDJ's ! .. I need to dedicate a day !
