Hi All,
Just wanitng to see if anyone knew of any tutorials available on how to use the crazy effects and cue-ing on both the DJM800 and CDJ 1000 mk3?
Would love to be able to make my own build ups etc....
Ive seen a couple of YouTube videos which were quite cool - wasnt sure if maybe Pioneer released something themselves.
Cheers
filters and loops and echo just practice!

different things work for different tracks, just gonna have to practice brother. best to stick with only a few fx at the start and get your head around them, then try other stuff, there's too much to try them all at once

I love watching build up on you tube, which one did you see?
I am experimenting a lot this few days coz I got a kp3, and it all comes up to a few elements but lots of variations in the way it could be done, some are simple some are more complicated, really depends of the gear you are using and of course the toon...
I wonder if the efx1000 would be better to do this kind of stuff than the Kp3.

zabeila can do crazy shit on efx1000.
Never seen anyone do anything close to what he does on that unit.

I think efx-1000 has concentrated on doing what it does perfectly. A great interface and simple to use. That being said, someone who knows what they're doing on a KP can do some amazing things...

Efx is better for looping etc for build ups imo
And i own a Kp3......kp3 has way crazier effects though
Simple solution....buy and use both til your audience can't even recognise the track you have effected the shit out of it that much :)

That is what I was affraid to hear!!! Kp3 as the looping stuff as well, but you have to get used to where to put the finger and remember, on the efx 1000 you can go straight for the buttons 1/1 1/2 1/4 1/8...never mind the kp3 has some cool filter stuff.
I have seen Zabi use the efx1000, is cool, but in my opinion in might have put in the effort to learn the machine like the back of his hand, it cool to know how to play with the stuff, but I remember reading that he had been criticized for playing too much with it...not sure its true...

Watch youtube and learn all the functions of the cdjs (there are more than meet the eye). I still dont know all the memory point functions. Then play round with the djm800 on the same track a few times to learn the fx - especially with different beat delays.
Then its about practising and experimenting...

since i dont have the fastest net connection i thought it might be easier to see if anyone
could give me the direct link rather than forwarding through videos and waiting for them to download!

Does any body know how the harmonic thing on the djm800 works? do you just press the button and it puts both tracks in the same key automaticly or do u manually adjust the color nob? or is it just basicly like the master tempo and keep the track sounding the same no matter the pitch adjust?
that questions been bothering me for awhile now

^^ It's a manual adjustment - your ears still have to be able to detect harmonics for you to know how far to twist the colour knob to adjust the key, ie. no, it's not like master tempo
