Wow. Maybe he has to play a suprise 10 hr set, where every half an hour the manager says "suprise - psy trance" then he has to play that for half an hour. then the manager says "suprise - electro breaks" and he has to play that..... "suprise - deep house". and he just has to be prepared. Or else he gets the CLAW.

i've had a quick google but can't find anything but you guys should have alook for photos of Junior Vasquez's private dj booth

20 + hour sets, and he was the only one allowed to play in there meant he kept a hefty collection of records at hand

Just another thought, the mixer looks like a Rayne 56 (maybe a 57SL?) It would be funny if it was the SL so he could be using serato so didnt need to bring any records - just a laptop and control vinyl.

It's a Rane TTM56. That record stash is normal for a hip hop DJing spinning a 2-3hr set.

lol, based on all the sets i've heard from z-trip it seems like he just uses about one crate of records... and never fucking changes any of the records in it :lol:

i'm trying to get a decent enough collection to play hip-hop :(

only got a few crates so far, probably need to at least double that before i think about it though.

I'd say that pic is from a home town show

Z-Trip generally plays with Serato now from what i saw last and have heard.
Same sort of thing as MMM.....i think they are both better when playing wax, but i guess they care for their backs

Everyone bags him out, but i personally think he is fucking amazing.....sure its cheesey a lot of the time but some of the stuff he does is amazing, dropping tracks in perfectly timed that i wouldn't in a million years dare or dream to put together but he makes them work.

Also, I think he is one of the only DJ's apart from :zabiela: that uses the EFX 500 well...mainly just for looping as far as I have seen.


I'm with Archie.....Z-Trip and Format at the same gig here in Perth.....can't wait

i thought the red ones were an efx 1000. I thought the 500's were only grey but i only have the black 1000 so i dont really know anyway. I wish i got a red one if you can

Theres also an opaque/clear one, whatever they look like, the returned signal still sounds pretty mediocre...
