It was inspired by somefreaks latese mix on the techno forum. it is based on the french term Les Enfants Perdue. it also contains some sweet second hand vinyl that i picked up OS.

Now before you think it, someone has pointed out the somewhat lame nature of the pun of this mix. I have no idea why or how I manage to be so poor in form but I can't be assed reuploading it.

Bit of a mix of some fairly recent tunes I'm liking. This is like a radio mix so don't expect anything to revolutionary in that regard. At least I was in a much better way than the StiffDrink mix so it should be a bit better.

Listened to an hour of this mix and like what I've heard. The first half hour is great and I think you're in your element when the tracks have some seriously fucked up vocals.

Mixing is pretty tight all round although I do get nit picky with tracks I've heard several times before but that's just me.

Looking forward to checking out the last bit.

Had another listen to this, this morning. Really cool, definitely was more able to enjoy it today. I do really like that your mixes aren't too locked into a groove - they just kinda sway all over the shop. Its something lots of people dont dare to do.

i played this on friday in my art room. i told the students that this was techno. their prior perceptions of the word were tainted as most associated the word with bad trance/hi energy music. it was nice to give them something like this to listen to.

i thoughoughly enjoyed it myself.


i also gave the rumble bomb a couple of listens, i really like that mix havik.

i played this on friday in my art room. i told the students that this was techno. their prior perceptions of the word were tainted as most associated the word with bad trance/hi energy music. it was nice to give them something like this to listen to.

Sat down last night with a bunch of new tunes and a 6 pack of Heineken, didnt have a fucking clue where I was going with it, ended up with this, which I was plesently suprised with to be honest, its a bit harder than I would normaly play but I kinda just went with it. Absolutely no planning with this mix, completely off the cuff with songs I hadnt heard. Give it a listen, I was pretty happy with how it ended up, and its only 45 min long too...I ran out of beer...!!

Were you using three decks? cdj maybe? None the less awesome, I think im going to have to get my ass along to technoirs nyd party for a bit if this is on the bill. This ones going in my sig, mite have to rip a few loops to if thats cool with you? Great stuff mate, hopefully this is the future of things to come ;) its new, its hard/fast and its not stuck in that late 90's early 2000's tech either....love the vocal stuff going on to. And im not just saying this for sayings sake, its honestly (IMHO) great work keep it up.

So you seemed intent for feedback so I've given this a good listen.
I could probably write a fair bit but my major comments would be that the tunes are great – I think you have good taste in tunes, nothing too chuggy and dull and nothing too overboard.

The first time I saw the tracklist I considered the idea of going from Snuka to Feuervogel a bit ambitious – its these kind of transitions that don’t make loads of sense to me. You’ve got the skills to layer them long enough to smooth it out but from the perspective of a club set, I just the intensity transition between the two tracks wouldn’t make sense to a floor. The whole mix is kinda like that – up and down – bouncy to padded, bouncy to padded. I think your skills helped it work, but if this were a club set I’d just kinda find the flow of a bit all over the shop. Perhaps start with the deeper stuff, move into bouncier/drum-driven tunes – ride those for a bit then bring it back down?

Anyway, its far from a crap mix, don’t get me wrong – I liked listening to it – you mix in time, phrased well and in key – that puts you way ahead of a lot of DJs. Just work on your programming (which is the hardest thing, IMO).

Keen for your next one - if I didn't like the tunes, I wouldn't bother!

Wicked to hear from you man. Means a lot as i really like your taste in tracks.

Essentially, i've transitioned from a fairly long period of playing hard dance a few years back, being out of the game for a couple of years and im just trying to find my feet tunes wise now playing this stuff. I just grabbed a bunch of recent downloads i've been diggin for this particular set and had a go at fitting them togehter.

I think a lot of what makes djs programming suffer at the moment is Ableton. Its MUCH easier to make transitions between tracks that don't flow well than ever before, and even as experienced as I am, im struggling a bit to program sets that flow with this music cause it's all to tempting to stuff two tracks together that shouldnt go just for the fun of it :)

The mix is on a pretty deep tech tip overall and starts of with one of my fav tunes of last year by Trentemoller (dig the gorgeous vocals so much) before sliding into some really groovy deep/minimal house & techno. The last third of the mix cranks up into serious deep, chuggy and occasionally twisted minimal techno with plenty of ooomph! :rock:

Enjoy the mix and artwork, feedback and comments (even if you hate it) warmly appreciated as quite a bit of effort has gone into this.

First to stick my hand up and admit I got rather carried away there! :lol:
Was the first time playing in a while, and the first time playing back at my home club since leaving NZ...had a stack of good mates there and a dancefloor from the very first track, so with all these up for it friendly faces, it was easy to get lost in the moment.

A mix bought about in part from an inspirational visit I had to Paris last month. Such a melting pot of electronic music. I set myself the task of trying to recreate the sound of a great night out I had in a little techno club near the Latin quarter. Place was dark, sweaty, full of strobe lights and smoke so I felt right at home.
I managed to get the name of a few of the artists and tracks that were played that night and the rest of the music are tunes which would be right at home in this club.

"Paris" was mixed live using Traktor and lightly edited in Ableton.

Yeah raised the BPM a little but more of a throbbing hard bass would have taken the mix to another level for me

I tried to figure it out to make it clear how does a mix look like, and I wanted to see it as a graph.
Based on the BPM and Key it is possible to draw your mix on a paper. This way you can see if your mix is
continuous or not, and you can define the "Hard" concept too.
