Midi Input and offline player so I can create cue points without Serato plugged in

Going to give it a whirl now, thought I create a thread as there are a few SSL users on the board ;)

How good is it.... It was only a 3.3mb download for the update. I thought I would have to download the whole program again. I CDJ's and so don't own serato but my friend does and sometimes I go over to his place to fuck around with it on turntables for fun with my laptop, and this new update is awesome cause I can set cue points and loops without having to have the friekin box plugged in. Stoaked

Auto-looping? As in, by beat count and BPM? And I can punch it in and out with a MIDI controller?! Woot!!

the midi controls are so easy to set up, click on midi button, click on function turn knob or hit button on midi controller = mapped and ready for action. ACE

hhaha put yourself in my shoes mate, I had to wake up at 5:30am this morn and I was up all night tinkering with the new features and having a mix

Good reports from everyone by the looks of things? I think its time to invest in a trigger finger now :)

totally frothing about this one.
offline player is going to be mad (once I get a lap top) to plan mixes while I'm at work,
and rock em out when I get back...
also removes the need to get an X-keys...
although they're only 100 and any midi device is like 300 plus...........
so dunno what i'll get.... midi would have the lowest latency I geuss??????????

anyway this looks like a mad upgrade for serato, the looping will be good as well...

anyone found the easter eggs, if there are any?

offline player is sick, good on sam and dave at team serato in NZ... well done for the advancement in the software!

ive assigned all necessary functions to my trigger finger, and whilst it is gold, i still feel its got alot of catching up to do when comparing to what im already having a ball with using Torq...

the cue point and auto loop mapping is sick, but there arent any effects (unless u got a 57) and the functionality of the auto loop chopping is abit weird.. (maybe im just use to the torq arrangement) im sure it will be updated in the coming months

had a 4 hr set last nigth and it worked very very well

1.7.4 crashed on me twice in the past!!! 1.8 is sounding sweet, there is still a USB dropout here n there, but definately has been improved

the major plus is the offline player, so fucking brilliant!

im finding it harder and harder to decide what to rock when i play a set, torq better fuckin hurry up with an update soon!

i've been serato-less for a month or so chabs, so yeah I only tried the beta a week or so ago with someone elses equipment, seemed pretty cool, but i didn't really get a chance to use it properly because I had some gay problem where none of the keyboard commands worked........ probably shoulda reported on the serato forum but I didnt know 'nuff bout the equipment i was using (laptop specs and shit).

I have audio (visually) coming out of the meters on the left deck with no audio coming out + no song loaded, it looks like a visual bug as it doesn't seem to hamper anything at all... wierd

I've been fiddling with it all morning, and I think the auto looping was implemented a bit early. Maybe mmore research was needed first?

I say this because the loops are often not right on the beat, meaning the start and/or end points cut some of the beat off. I haven't tried it with alot of quantized music so that's probably the problem, but the manual does claim the feature works perfectly.

Also, I anyone getting any lag when using a midi controller? I assigned the 'go to cue point one' function to a pad on my MPD and there's enough of a lag that it's not really usable.

I reckon 1.8.1 isn't too far away....
