well i know some friends who have had similar problems and the problem is your downloaded and cracked version is fcuked. no real way to fix it. well if its the same thing anyway, and it sounds like it. next time either download a good version or pay for it :p.

sometimes reason will be set to auto connect press the tab key if it doesn't work to turn the rack around and see if it's auto connected all fcuked up maybe thats all it is and yes make sure you PAY for your software

why do i say you downloaded it? 2 reasons.

1) Some of my friends who downloaded it had similar issues.

2) You said: "I got Reason 1.01 or wateva it is" If you'd bought it you would have said "I've got Reason 2.0" (Which is what they've been selling for the last month) or "I've got Reason 1.01" (If you truly have had it for over a month and haven't been able to install it properly) and dropped the "or wateva it is".

not a dig, just observations

software piracy is bad... software piracy is the reason why programs (especially to do with music) are so expensive for the rest of us...

HAHAHAHAHA!

well spotted

to the 14 year old... man... read the friggin manual

thats the BEST way to get started

other then that just take it slow and keep the fun factor high!

im happy you went the production route... i remember yellin at u to ignore dj'ing

:P

and remember, just when you think you have nailed reason you will work out a new routing option, or Peff will blow you away or something.

its a very handy tool.

with reason 2 and sonar 2 and their REWIRE passionate love im very very happy

very very poorer, but very very happy

i used a pirated copy of reason 1 for some time but dont have one at all right now. want to pick up sonar 2 and reason 2 soon but just dont have enough cash at the present moment seeing as i just dropped it all on a new laptop. so driload question as someone who is really just a newbie, whats its ease of use like those two? i couldnt get my head around logic and cubase was fine i just hear terriffic things about sonar 2. i want something thats piss easy to use like the reason sequencer but with a bit more power etc. btw got a wavestation also currently but about to trade it up to a prophecy :)

Thats the exact reason i got it Illeagly im only 14 dont have have a job not old enough to get a job So i used it as a last resort i tried the free demo and liked it so i thought may aswell give it a try...

Also Sean yea it would be good to contact you, im having a few troubles trying to figure out stuff and everything, also Driload im 14 do you think i can understand a manual like that..

what problems are you having with it.

and dont use the 14 excuse :p not valid. if u don't think u can read the manual then you probably cant work the software.

I can kind of work it i got a few problems like how do i record my tracks how do i put samples in there simple stuff like that..

Sean

well the sequencer is pretty straight forward select the track select the pencil and enter your notes. and as for samples what sort of samples aree you talking about? loops? stabs? percusiion?

It goes for about a minute

well really id say do your track first and then add the fluff and glitter to it. but anyway,

there are two ways to add samples. the sampler (obviously) which is kick ass for importing sounds and then playing them back at different keys etc. and theres the drum machine. the drum machine is good for samples that don't need to be keyed or samples ur only dropping once etc, because you can load up to ten samples into one drum machine whereas u cant load quite so many into the sampler :P

if uve got it in the sampler then simply go to the sequencer and draw a note in for however long you want the sample to play at whatever key you want the sample.

if you have it in the drum machine then all you have to do is select the appropriate drum track in the seqencer and write a single trigger note in. the drum machine will play the sample once no matter how long the note is in relation to the sample.
